We are in church together and are college age. I really like her, but when she found out I liked her, she started getting really shy around me. ...and sometimes avoids me. ...so we haven't talked in a long time. The fact that we only see each other once a week is not helping.

I like her and I think she likes me, but I am really scared to mess this up. She is so pretty that it is hard for me to look her in the eye. I really don't know what to say. Girls what would be something I could do. I have gotten to know her dad really well over the last few months. ...but I don't want to ask him. What do I do? I don't want to lose her! What could I say?

Oh gosh! That is a dilema!

Could be that she is interested in you and when she found out you liked her, she's been nervous and waiting for you to make a move....

Or it could be that she's not interested in you, and by avoiding you, she's hoping she can avoid an awkward conversation and hurting your feelings by rejecting you.

Even if the latter is true, you really have nothing to lose. I'd invite her to coffee after church and tell her you'd like to take her to dinner. You'll get your answer there.

Hang tough :)

Try to find things that interest her and talk about that! Im a shy person and sometimes when i like a guy I get even more shy and backwards when he is around. Sometimes because I get so backwards I dont know what to talk about and get really nervous so then I start to avoid him so I dont look stupid. You need to find out if she really likes you or not and the best way to do that is to make her comfortable around you. People are comfortable when there talking about stuff they like or enjoy or know alot about. If you dont already know some of these things about her then try to find out and show some interst in the topic by maybe asking questions or getting her opinion on it etc. The more time she spends talking to you about this kind of stuff the more comfortable she will get talking to you and then eventually you can lead into talking about other things! Oh and dont talk to her dad about it cause if she is shy that will only embaress her.

You THINK she likes you. But you don't know that for a fact. The fact that she avoids you would be a concern. Women who really like someone even when they are shy are not trying to avoid them. Be confident, tell her you want to get to know her better.

Talk to her before someone else does! She is waiting for you to make the first move! It could be very simple, a note, or a simple "You are pretty, you have nice eyes." You will lose her to someone else if you wait! Invite her to the movies, or to a dance. You will be happier afterwards! Let us know how it turns out, ok?

Volunteer to be on a church committee that she is on and that will give you the opportunity to talk with her and get to know her better.

Since you are both going to college, that should give you something in common to talk about.

If you don't start talking to her, someone else will.

Just be honest. Come right out and tell her you like her. If she likes you back, which seems likely, she'll admit her feelings as well and you can talk about where to go from there.
