Definately seems that way.
Christians bashing Atheists and those that follow other religions, Atheists posting deliberately inflammatory posts aimed at Christians, Muslims bashing anyone who doesn't follow Allah.

That happens here, but this forum is more than just that. Is it just here that people feel this way, or is it just here they are free to express their feelings? Our society is becoming increasingly polarized and this is a place where the divisions can be measured. Upon seeing the divisions and studying the differences, someone could find a place for common ground and work on healing rifts. Very little of that currently happens.

I imagine this is a forum for a lot of people to vent a lot of different pet peeves, and maybe even hatred. Don't let it bother you.
I have begun to realize, however, that it makes absolutely NO sense at all for anybody to try to defend their religion on Yahoo Answers.
There are some questions that are sincerely asking about one religion or another... and it is fine to respond when you feel the asker is sincere. But when they are obviously trying to put down what we believe, making sarcastic and insulting remarks, why bother to respond?

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. I don't like these stereotypes. I want to understand different cultures, religions, and other groups of people. I believe that we are all one, no matter what others may think. I also get a lot of stereotypes, too! I also want to understand what caused these stereotypes to happen it the first place.

Well, it's a free board. People will squabble over anything, religious or not.
It's fine with me, because I like debate and in some cases passive mudslinging. Plus nobody gets killed, as in some religious debates (think Inquisition).
So I guess you could say we like Inquisitive minds, not the Inquisition.

for if they were true atheists, they would not be here let alone around anything to do with religion. and I state this from being a 30 yr atheists, the last place you would ever find me is near anything religious......yet we see them here every day, every hour, bashing away.

Its a place to vent hatred period. Theres all kinds, racist, homophobic, political, religious, etc.
But there are also people here who actually have questions and answers to others questions, so its not completely without worth.

Its a place for answers which are facts and with religion there are no facts so what you get are opinions. Sometimes people ask questions that they really don't want the answer for.

it would appear that many of the user are here simply for that reason, other are just looking for an argument, but there are those that come to answer question, with peace and gentleness, these are made fun of and ridiculed by the others.
there are those that are searching for answers, and hopefully there will be those that weather the abuse and remain to answer those honest questions.
