pre steam the ribs in the oven for 30 minutes and cut down the BBQ time. Put the ribs on a cookie sheet add 1 cup of beef broth, seal with tin foil and put in a 325 oven. Thee BBQ time will now be about 30 minutes and I find the ribs are more tender. Adjust the seasoning to your liking. Serve with salads and baked on the BBQ potatoes simple as that.

You've got 45 minutes to use these three recipes. They are quick and easy.
POTATO SALAD favorite! 6 servings
5 lbs. Cut up cooked Potatoes
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
4 hard boiled eggs, chopped
1 tsp. mustard (optional)
1/3 c. dill pickle
2 tbsp. Salad dressing (Helmans is the BEST!)
2 c. chopped celery
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
2 tbsp. sweet pickle juice (optional)
Sprinkle of Paprika
Place potatoes, onion and eggs in a bowl. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix remaining ingredients, and pour over potato mixture and toss lightly.
(Or pick up a quart when you go to the grocery store to get the other things you may have forgotten.)
-----------------------------
Cole Slaw
8-10 cups shredded cabbage
1/4 cup shredded carrot (1 medium carrot)
2 tablespoons minced onion
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1. Be sure cabbage and carrots are chopped up into very fine pieces (about the size of rice).
2. Combine the sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar, and lemon juice in a large bowl and beat until smooth.
3. Add the cabbage, carrots, and onion, and mix well.
4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Serves 10-12.
(Or go to KFC and get a pint. This is their recipe!)
-----------------------------
Baked Beans Favorite!
2 cans (1 lb.) Pork & Beans
2 cups Dark Brown Sugar or dark Karo syrup
1 cup tomato Ketchup
1 Onion Fine Chopped
2 Tbsp. Mustard
6 Slices cooked, diced bacon

1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
1/4 cup diced bell pepper (optional)

(Or open a jar of Baked Beans, add cooked bacon if you want.)
A baked potato or french fries with the trimmings are great too!

If kids are going to be coming you need hot dogs and burgers. Steak and chicken might be something they eat but hot dogs are a plus. If doing a semi BBQ Mac and Cheese for the kids side dish.
How about maccaroni salad, tossed salad, potato salad. Some sort of "Rice A Roni" flavored rice (I like Rice Pilaf).
If lots of guys COLD BEER.

Take zucchinis, red onions or Spanish onions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes. Cut them in large cubes. Marinate them for half an hour in a bowl with salt, pepper, a bit of rosemary, olive oil, lemon juice and red wine vinegar. Meanwhile, soak 5 skewers in water. Then make vegetable skewers with the marinated vegetables and grill the skewers on the BBQ.

An invitation! Sounds good! But I like baked beans. You may not have time for that unless you get the ready made ones. Oh yeah...watermelon.

Any salad around? baked potatoes, potato wedges with a dip, bowl of beans, cubes of cheese and pickled onions on cocktail sticks, if you have time. Crisps, fruit, anything you have around and can throw in a bowl. Have a good time
