Most are very honorable, decent hardworking people who wouldn't wish harm on anyone... they just get bad press because of the few wackjobs and their bombs screwing things up for everyone else.

It's a privilege to meet my first Kurd (in a way). I have the deepest admiration for your people.

My experience is that religion is a mirror in which people find themselves reflected. People whose temperament is to be peaceful, thoughtful and compassionate seem to remain so whatever their religious beliefs or lack of beliefs. Conversely, people whose temperament is to be quick to take offense, to be dogmatic intolerant and unmindful of the joy or pain of others, to seek power over others and punish differences, these people seem to find justification in religion to live down to their worst instincts. This is true of people of all faiths.

As regards Muslims, a mile from my home a large Mosque and a large Hindu temple stand side by side. The Mosque was built first on the front section of the land. The Hindu temple was built next. The two groups meet on different days and so they share the parking lot and grounds. They each mind their own business and get along fine. I'm not sure that happens anywhere but in America. They are my neighbors and co-workers, and some are my friends, and we all get along by avoiding the topic of religion.

When we do not avoid the topic of religion I have this to say. The claims of all theistic religions cannot be corroborated or proven, many can be disproven, and this is perfectly apparent to anyone who has not been anesthetized to the dogma via cultural conditioning and indoctrination, usually from birth. One's religion is generally the same as the one their parents had and is held for no better reason than it was inherited, which is a very bad reason to believe anything about the nature of reality.Anyone who thinks the Q'uran, the Bible or any other book is the perfect word of the creator of the universe has not read those books critically, or their imperfect human origin would be unmistakable.

Islam in particular makes it quite hazardous of life and limb to question its dogma, and indeed, the doctrines of Islam have correctly been characterized as a "near-perfect barrier to honest inquiry." Islam is not unique among monotheisms in this regard. Both Judaism and Christianity had centuries long phases where honest inquiry was met with sword and flame, and where maintaining at least an outward show of religious orthodoxy was a matter of self-preservation. That barbaric era has long passed for Judaism and Christianity, but sadly it is rising in Islam, and and those devout adherents willing to do anything to spread their belief, those who care nothing for the lives of infidels, have become a danger to the civilized world that must be confronted and defeated to prevent the return of humanity to the medievalism that so many Imams and Islamists seem to think of as "the good old days."

I have no idea what I think of you, as we haven't met. But I see the exciting news reports from Kurdistan and think that you have much more in common with an American ethical humanist and atheist like myself than you do with the Wahhaby-Salafi fanatics of Riyadh or the Shia lunatics of Tehran.

About Muslim people; I think they have a wonderful religious base. There are, however, fanatics that have given the religion a bad image. This is the same with any other religion you'd care to point out.

Most Muslims I have seen, talked to and known are fine people with a good faith. I find many to be very dedicated to their faith.

I think about Muslims the same way I think of most other religious groups. They have allot of good ideas, allot of bad ones, and a few kooks that make the rest of them look bad. Honestly, in today's society, particularly in this country, I feel bad for Muslims. Most Americans think that you guys are all evil, because a few Muslims attacked us on 9/11.

In the name of Allah Most Benefit Most Merciful
All praise belongs to Allah only, the Lord of all worlds
May Allaah's peace and blessing be upon His SWT prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions

Allaah's Apostle said that nobody is going to believe on the right way, untill he wishes himself what he wishes his brother.
In the Qur'an it said:
''The Believers are but a single Brotherhood'' [Al-Hujuraat, 10]
And according to this, you may guess what is my relation to all other Muslims. I love all Muslims on the world, and pray to Allaah that he makes those who rae good even better, and those who sin, that He swt makes them standfirm in imaan.

And all praise belongs to Allah only, the Lord of all worlds
And may Allaah's peace and blessing be uppon His SWT prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions

i'm not a guy, although i comprehend of sisters who've married for the 1st time at your age or perhaps older. I assure you my expensive all isn't misplaced and 30 isn't too previous which you would be able to marry. in fact with the aid of your situations it truly is clever which you weren't able to marry till now this time. I choose you the ultimate and provide in simple terms this little bit of suggestion: Marry Mr. good, not Mr. good now. do not enable human beings buzz on your ear which you would be able to settle for the 1st theory that comes alongside. it is your good to decide on a powerful and respectable Muslim guy who will make you chuffed in each way. stable good fortune :)

I am a Muslim and I'm used to people hating me even though they know NOTHING about me. I'm an American and I made the choice to become a Muslim. I'm happy about my choice and all the hatred sent towards me then I just brush it away.

I think Islam is a beautiful religion, which teaches heartfelt devotion to God. I admire the teachings of modesty of the faith, and its practices of staying constantly connected with God, by praying 5 times a day, fasting, and things like that.

Aw. I dont wanna hurt your feelings, but ill be honest.

the muslims i have met are nice.

very persecuted by the press. you should say you dont support the acts of a minority more often, as a community, but that is not your fault, thats the heads of the religion.
I dont hold you or any of you responsible for suicide bombings, like some do, just like I hope you dont feel bad about that whole 'Cruisades' kerfuffle! LOL.

to white westerners, who are a little 'insular' (sad but true in alot of cases) you seem a little 'foreign' I guess. thats about how you are represented on tv and newspapers.

but its different on a person to person basis, like I say, everyone i meet is nice.
