hi everyone, wonder if you can help, went out for a lovely meal last night, a guy that both me & my husband know asked to speak to him outside the restaurant, the guy then turned on my hubby like a wild dog and kicked him in the groin, husband was winded immediatley and then the guy (who is easily 19stone) jumped on him and beat ten bells of crap out of my husband.i stepped in a screamed that im pregnant and he raised his fist to me but never hit me. Called police they want husband to go to the police station on wednesday! to make a statement, he looks as tho he been hit by a buss and is in extreme pain. We have been to hospital they want to send him for an 'mri? scan on tuesday morning, hubby is black and blue and i am annoyed that the police are wanting HIM to go there on wed and the hospital are prepared to wait until tue to do mri. PLEASE help what would you do.

Annoyed that husband is having to w8 3days until a statement is taken! there was a reason behind the attack, the guy was pissed off that we were at the same restaurant and thought that WE were followin him and his "bit on the side" and thought that his wife put us up to going to catch him out??????? We were just there with friends having a lovely time??? Hubby wants something done but is worried that it will b brushed aside...

Sorry but you are not really making it clear what you are annoyed about?
Making him wait until Wednesday ?
Not doing it BEFORE Wednesday?
Needing to take a statement of him instead of A.N. Other ?
I would suggest you make sure the hospital / you have taken plenty of photographs to document the injuries, then as soon as possible, get your husband (the only one who can make the statement for himself) to the police station as soon as possible.
If you WANT the police to be involved, you need to let them do their job. If your husband was the one assaulted it is HIM that they need to talk to. He may also know a little more as to why the man might have assaulted him.
What would I do? Ask my husband what HE wants to do - seeing as it was him that had the crap beaten out of him.

Although I agree that assualt is NOT acceptable, unless you have decided that this person known to both of you has suddenly flipped his lid randomly - I am guessing there might just be two sides to this.
It *might* be useful for the husband to have a chance to decide what HE wants to do before contacting lawyers and police etc.

Well your husband willbe going to the station for a statement, not because he is arrested. Also the doctors wont give him an MRI immediantly because he isnt considered critical. You should also sue, because the MRI will cost quite a bit of money. So yea, go talk to a lawyer and get his/her advice.
