Some believe you can. Personally, I think that maybe you can pray yourself into not acting on your natural desires (that holds true for straights as well as gays) but the desire still remains. I guess it comes down to a personal choice. When I realized that I was gay, I was Atheist, so the thought of prayer didn't even enter my mind. I would never try to pray the gay away today (whoa, a triple rhyme!) but some people do, and that's their prerogative. To each his own.

Of course if that happened, not sure who'd make all the gay people in 100 years.
That's called a Paradox!
Maybe we should rectify that and just have ALL the gay people Pray away all the Funamentalist, hateful, judgemental Christians who follow Paul instead of Jesus and, of course, ALL of the Muslims, becuase they are TOTALLY agaisnt gays.

Praying can boost your self-esteem, but it is not magic.
Even though I do not think that people are born gay, I do not think that you could pray for homosexual behavior to cease. It is pretty difficult to stop practicing a behavior that you have lived for many years. I am not convinced that you can change people's behavior. You can alter it, but change it no.
Just distance yourself from the situation or person that you do not want to be around. Just do not lead an individual on.
