Seems to me it was a book about the second coming of the Christ.
Jesus said he'd be back soon. he came back 400 years later as Mohammad.

Funny thing is, the Christians didn't even notice.
Makes me glad I'm a Pagan.

I have read some of the qur'an and it was quite confusing. I read in some places where Christians are called "closest" to Muslims and in other places it says Christians are out to deceive Muslims.

When I discussed some of the things I read to a Muslim classmate (who gave me the qur'an), she told me how it was a religion of peace and gave the utmost respect to women. But I read how a man is permitted to withhold food from his wife and beat her if she is not pleasing to him. There are many other passages that did not promote righteous living but promoted satisfying the flesh, such as paradise being described as a place where a man can have sex with "ever-virgins" and drink lots of wine. It is appealing to the flesh and not the spirit, which I don't think is righteous at all.

Muslims I've talked to seem to put alot of emphasis on and take much pride in how much they pray everyday which conveyed to me that they equate salat with righteousness. But here is a passage that I read in the qur'an:

"It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards the East and the West, but righteousness is this that one should believe in Allah and the last day and the angels and the Book and the prophets, and give away wealth out of love for Him to the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and the beggars and for (the emancipation of) the captives, and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate; and the performers of their promise when they make a promise, and the patient in distress and affliction and in time of conflicts-- these are they who are {rue (to themselves) and these are they who guard (against evil)." - [2.177]

I made a comment to my Muslim acquaintances about the bible being something they are commanded to use in conjunction with the qur'an. They vehemently denied this. Then I went to the above verse in the qur'an and they had no choice but to concede on that point. Shortly afterwards, they kicked me and my husband out of their home. So I ask you, do YOU believe in the Book and the prophets? If so, how do you deal with conflicting principles between the bible and the qur'an? Surely Allah knew the bible and the qur'an would be translated and changed over time, yet this is still a command. How do you reconcile the two? Please email me if you do not wish to post an answer on here. I am genuinely interested in what you have to say.

The "Qur'an" as you put it, (and yes I have read it along with most other "Religious" books) is no more and no less than ANY of the other so called HEAD books of each religion.

You see the problem is that Religion itself is nothing more than a way to "exploit" the weak-willed and ignorant into being the "support" for "Fat-Cat" religious leaders.

Think for yourself

The only thing perfect in this universe is GOD - no human being has got it TOTALLY right, we are all still learning and can do so from both God and also from EACH OTHER!
