When my current boyfriend had asked me out, he had just come out of two relationships consecutively and had admitted to liking me and one of my best friends at the same time. Two days later he decided that he would like to date me more and asked me out.(We made it clear that if he chose one of us and it didn't work out, he could not instantly go for the other.)He's told me numerous times that he liked me since the day he first saw me but he didn't think he stood a chance.

However this has always put me in an awkward position. Time and time again I always end up asking if he loves me, if he really means it, and how long he wants this to be. He always says yes to the first two and says he would love to spend the rest of his life with me and it's genuine. A couple weeks later, I begin asking again. He's patient and seems to understand my trust issues arise from 3 failed relationships--due to cheating and lying--as well as an abuse-filled childhood.

How do I stop doubting? (Us: 4 months)

It's not that I'm expecting him to cheat on me. I just wonder if he actually loves me. He gives me things, is affectionate, and compliments me more times than I could count. He is the most attentive boyfriend I have ever had and I know he could quite possibly be the one. (Neither one of us has a cheating record)

Well if you're doubting him then that means something in your heart is telling you that something is wrong. Go with your heart, because most of the time it's 100% accurate! If you like there's a need not to trust him, then there probably is. And the saying I hear a lot is, "Once a cheater, always a cheater!" And even if you do think that he's lying and you still want to stay with him, stop asking! My boyfriend broke up with me because he thought I couldn't trust him. And do you know why he thought that? Because I asked him a lot if he still liked and loved me, and if he liked this other chick whose story I won't go into now. Follow your instincts because they are probably right. <3

there is not really a way that you can stop doubting your boyfriend unless you can do something to make him trust you is get a friend that he does not know and get her ask him out and if he says yes you cant trust him. But your friend does not really go out with him. That is how you figure out if you can trust him.

From personal experience I can tell you that trust comes over time. So, have patients my dear and don't drive him away. Give him a chance to prove his love. And enjoy the relationship!
