I hope you are using a good flat iron. I suggest the CHI flat iron. Of course it is ceramic since that is less damaging to your hair. However, I also suggest you use Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment once a week. I leave it in my hair for 15 mins. or even try L'ANZA Dry hair Moisture Treatment and L'ANZA Hair Repair Reconstructor. At the salon, you can use the hair steamer AND deep conditioner because steamers lock in the moisture and become even more effective with the deep conditioner.

Back to home, after washing your hair and conditioning it, I suggest using the CHI Silk infusion (apply a dime to quarter size amount in your hand depending how long your hair is) and distribute it evenly throughout your hair prior to straightening it. I use the Aveda Brilliant Damage Control to then spray my strands lightly before apply the CHI flat iron. When all done, I apply a dime to quarter size amount of Farouk BioSilk Silk Infusion to the hand and rub evenly throughout the hair. This leaves the hair silky and frizz free. Please consider not using excessive heat on your hair so you can get it back healthy. Good luck!!

I use a serum called biosilk. Its very good. I flat iron my hair too and have no had split ends or damage. You should also look into a better flat iron such as sedu, it closes the hair folicles to prevent damage. Also do a deep conditioning every week.

Ok it is really hard to find this...at least in my area it was. It was only at my salon. But it works wonders. Loreal TEX. Hot Styles Straight Spray ( in a black spray can)......you spray it on each section, before you use your striaghtening iron, and it protects your hair, like a sealant...and it makes your hair like ten times softer...AND it will keep the humidity out!!! it really is amazing! I can't believe every salon doesn't have it!!!!
