Although, water is a very healthy drink, there is a possibility of drinking too much and can result in death. A gallon of water is not alot, but it really depends on your body size. Severe perspiration does not mean you can drink more, either. It has been known that marathon runners have died from water intoxication. If you do sweat alot, you need to drink more electrolytes. Gatorade and sports drinks are made for this purpose. What happens is, when you sweat, you lose a lot of sodium (the salt in your sweat). This causes your electrolytes to dip. When you drink water, you're only replenishing the lost water, NOT the electrolytes. Without this balance, your head swells and you can slip into a coma.

My suggestion, cut back on the water and drink a sports drink. If you think your body actually REQUIRES that much water, see your doctor. There have been cases of people who had seizures due to not having a sip of water every few minutes!

Drinking a gallon of water a day will do you no harm at all. It will in fact cleanse the body of all sorts of crap and let the body run more like a sports car than a shopping cart.

No, I usually drink about a gallon of green tea a day, plus my bottle of water when I exercise.

I've been doing this for a couple of years with no health problems whatsoever

No, not a bit. I drink a gallon a day, every day, and have for most of my life. Its the only beverage I drink, except for white wine

All the above answers are very good. My only suggestion or question is have you been checked for diabetes? Plus there are other maladies that give excessive thirst. It wouldn't hurt to have a doctor check you out. I can guarantee you if you are in good health, water is the best way to keep you clean inside too!

it will not hurt you one bit... for most of my life i have drank a gallon jug of 95% water and 5% vinegar.. it is cleansing and when you get used to the taste its not too bad... after having a kidney stone my doctor recommended it.. you will be fine and in fact better off than those that don't drink any water.. good luck
