I graduated from college 3 years ago and have been working in the logistics industry. I always thought that I can rely on my employer to sponsor by Green Card but so far its only been promises after promises but no result. I'm an idealist and thought that if you work hard and stay positive in life you will achieve anything you want but now with my work visa expiring, I'm not sure what to do. Are there any other suggestions on what to do... Your thoughts are appreciated

THe easiest thing to do would be: find a nice girl, get her pregnant, and have a good ol' fashioned shot-gun wedding. Who knows, you may actually grow to love each other and have the "American Dream".

I assume you have an H1B visa. You should convert this visa into a green card before it expires. Or at least apply for a labor certification before it expire. Otherwise, if you overstay your visa, you will be banned for 10 years, even if you find another employer.
My suggestions:
1. Tell your employer to file for a labor certification in your behalf. ( I say, insist, not tell)
2. Find another employer that will sponsor you in the same line of job. Your H1 B visa is transferable as long as you have the same line of job. However you should do the necessary adjustment with the USCIS. And dont quit your job until you get your approval to your new employer.
3. If your single, just marry some one who can petition and once you get your green card, kick your employers ***!!!
Good Luck

maybe you could try to get another job with a sponsorship going. maybe if your current employer sees that someone else would want you to work for them and help you out,he would be more interested in keeping his word about your gc. alot of big companies do that around here they see that a valuable employee is more interested in going somewhere else with better benefits, they are willing to up the ante with a better offer.

the sad reality is that its a cruel world out there....the employers use and abuse hard workers like you cuz....they know they have got u by ur balls....promises of GC and what nots...its just a way for them to get the most out of you.....if you don't work for yourself then u are very much expendable....we are dime a dozen....you could easily be replaced by another ....employers dont give a crap about you...what benefits do they get by sponsoring you...they already know if they sponsor you...you will leave and find a better paying job....its the survival of the fittest....forget about relying on somebody else...u put ur trust on somebody else...and you are bound to get screwed.....my advise to you...since u still have ur visa... find a nice US citizen girl...date her....get to know her...fall in love....then marry her ...and viola u will get ur green card.....the key is to be in it for love AND NOT JUST FOR GC..... good luck.....
