I want logical answers, not Bible verses:
-Where does it retain its existence?
-What is it made of?
-How can a deity possess it, if it's a part of my physical being?
-If it's not part of my physical being, how does it have anything to do with my brain, or any other part of my earhtly body (i.e. how can thinking lustful thoughts be a sin? It takes place in my brain, which is a physical part of me, and my soul is unconnected)?
-Where does it COME from?
-If the population is growing, who makes new souls?
-Does your soul have anything to with your personality?
-Is there any evidence at all that a soul exists?
Help me out here. I honestly want to know what you think.

I didn't say I don't want Bible-believing people. I WANT Bible believing people. It's who the question is aimed towards. I don't want Bible VERSES as proof of a soul. Because I don't believe the Bible is the word of God. I'm trying to get Bible-believers to answer logically instead of their standard pre-fab bulls**t.

North_Lights: I agree with YOUR definition. Jehovah's Witness, right? Yeah, I think they get the closest when they translate that word in the Bible. BUT, mainstream Christianity disagrees with you, and furthermore thinks you're going to hell. But, who cares, because we don't believe in Hell, right? Condemn me to a place I don't believe exists? HA!

The dictionary says, a soul is the vital principal that moves and
animates all life.So if you have no soul then you are basically
dead, if there is no animation in your life as in the case of someone in a coma even if your physically alive you could be
considered dead because there is no animation in your life
Is your conscience the same as your soul.Maybe it is, that little
twinge you get when you know you are doing wrong. So I would
say that a soul is the part of our makeup as humans that puts us in that place of responsibility for our actions whether good or bad

To me a soul is a spark from the fire of all creation. Or a drop from the ocean of all creation. However you would like to hear it.
I believe the soul exists in the realm of absolute, an alternate reality where comparisons and interpretations can not be made yet a consciousness still remains. I don't really have any ideas what a soul is made of but I do believe it is a part of your physical body, although it is not inseparable. The body needs a soul but the soul doesn't need a body. I don't think a Deity can own your soul as it was given to YOU, it is yours and yours alone. You may dedicate your soul but you still retain sole (ha ha) ownership. I feel there is no way to prove a souls existence. The source of all creation is the source of the souls creation.

A SOUL is a consciousness consisting of a specific configuration of wisdom accumulated through experiences. There is a complete continuity of the Soul between its lifetimes and the stages out of the body. During the brief periods of incarnation the Soul tests its wisdom and gains new experiences, just as school children would test their knowledge of physics in an experimental laboratory. More complex lessons span more than one lifetime, whilst unfolding in different sets of circumstances, the purpose of which it is to re-affirm relevant understanding within the Soul from as many angles as possible. A Soul grows with every accomplished piece of an understanding. A purified complete Soul need not incarnate. Because the path that leads to completeness is very demanding, few Souls choose it. The majority of Souls settle for the more comfortable and easier option of own incompleteness, whilst specializing in some area of competence which naturally suits them. Once reaching an appropriate level of training, and after completing purification, such Souls, too, need not incarnate. Their final roles can, on the whole, be described as ancillary, whereas the roles of Souls that reach own completeness can be described as creative and managerial. To date there are only about 300 Souls that are becoming complete.
A complete Soul has the knowledge and ability to work out unaided the appropriate answer to any situation for which there is a precedent. It will have acquired all the knowledge that exists. There is one higher level of knowledge and competence, and that is perfection. A perfect Soul has the ability to work out the correct conclusion to any situation or concept it may be presented with, even in the absence of a precedent. A perfect Soul is not just a carrier of all existing knowledge; it is a creator of new knowledge. A Soul that becomes perfect becomes one with God. A perfect Soul is also purified to a greater degree than any other Soul. Only three Souls reach perfection.
Creation On the Soul plane, energy is all there is. Because a Soul turns its ideas into energy, a Soul capable of creating knowledge, in effect, creates new reality for itself and others. Hence the subjective God, the perfect Soul, is the Creator.

I can only give you my opinion. Be right back, give me a few minutes.
Our soul is our consciousness. The essence of who we are. Yes, it is our personality, baring any physiological issues. Like mental illness. I believe that our sexuality is a physical issue as well. I cannot even begin to speculate what it is made of, other than pure energy.
The soul and the body are not connected. The soul can manipulate and influence the body. Example is willpower.
I believe God created souls and continues to do so. Twins have 2 bodies, right? So 2 souls.
Forget anything from religion regarding God and your soul. Sin means to miss the mark. Hell is a valley outside Jerusalem.
There is no proof of the soul other than sightings of dead spirits. Or your own dreams. Pay attention to your dreams, sometimes the soul leaves the body while it sleeps.

It is what animates you and distinguishes you from the dead. That being said, there is such a thing as someone who is "spiritually dead"
It retains its existence within every fibre of your being. One woman who was raised from the dead by her daughter through the power of Christ, often complained afterwards that her soul had been put back in "sideways". (circa 1300, during the plague)
It is made of sparkly light.
A deity may claim it, although it may not unless you allow it to. Sometimes you unconsciously make this decision.
Thoughts are not tangible. Firing dendrites in your brain are indicitive of thought, but are not thoughts in and of themselves. Thoughts may come from outside of you, such as a learning process. You would not think "lustful thoughts" unless you saw or heard something that taught you about sexual urges. (Like the nature channel, or having pets on a farm) Sexual urges are not a sin in and of themselves. But when they become more important than the object of your affection, then indeed, they cross the line into darkness.
Souls come from heaven. They are there from the beginning, and are planning their own advent into their bodies according to the Great Plan set out by God.
Your personality has basic attributes. A study done by child psychologists observed in daycares (children under 2) that some children are naturally introspective (stand on side-lines and watch), and some children are naturally extroverted (jump in and participate enthusiastically without fear). Other personality traits are developed and formed by life experiences.
Evidence that a souls exists? At one time, weighing a body directly before death and directly afterwards showed a discrepancy, although I'm not sure what the value of that evidence shows. It has been pooh-poohed by others as unworthy scientific research.

The soul is the living breathing person, and what is more that is what the Bible teaches, but I won't tell you chapter and verse as you don't want it! But we use the expression when a boat goes down - "she went down with all souls on board", that meant the living breathing person and not some shadowy thing that could go off somewhere. We also use the expression "SOS" or "Save Our Souls" to explain that our lives are in danger - that is living breathing people are in danger. The bible teaches that animals are souls, the same as people, but do people teach that an animal has some shadowy thing that exists after death - no. People don't want to die, and want the idea they can still go on living after death, so the idea of the soul surviving death is because that is what people want to believe, not because it has any substance in scripture.

It quite relies on the way you interpret the phrase soul mate. If you outline it because the man or woman with whom you so much carefully attach on a non secular stage, gender and sexual orientation is of little to no trouble. I'm certain tons of men and gals have identical intercourse soul pals as good as joyful, efficient marriages to anyone else. Is it viable to have multiple soul mate? I let you know something I have found out over fifty two years on the planet, whilst you're speaking approximately people, something is viable.

God breathed into Adam and he became a living soul. Adam was made in the image of God. A body, soul & spirit. When he sinned, he died spiritually (forbidden to eat of the tree of life & live). He died physically within a thousand years. The body goes into the ground and the soul goes where God puts it.
Your soul is in you. It is the part of you that won't die unless it is thrown into the lake of fire, the second death. When you get born of God, you are spiritually reborn, the spiritual birth blends with your soul. And you are still in your body, and you are a body, soul & spirit again. The spiritual eyes, ears cans see, hear, etc. spiritually. This is seeing the Kingdom of God.
The soul is associated to our decisions. We work as unto the salvation of our souls. Though once a child of God, we build on the Rock foundation. What is decisions/ works out of obedience to God and rooted in faith hope & love is everlasting rewards. What isn't is fried & doesn't go to heaven. Spiritually we walk after the Spirit & trust & obey God in Christ Jesus.
When one receives Christ Salvation (born of His Spirit), one is then purchased by the blood of the Lamb and God owns this child of God.
Everone was first thought of in Gods mind. The invisible became visible.
The soul is in the body. When born of His spirit can also spiritually pray to God in the mind or have a spiritual voice. This spiritual quickening is in the persons soul so blends with it and is one with it.
To get possessed of the soul/ body, one has to reject God & open up self to other gods (Cult activities). I believe anyone who is a serial killer is demon possessed. But the person opens the door to it by music listened to with destructive words, looking at hard core pornography, alchohal or drugs, etc... Or they could just be practicing a cult that rejects Gods Saving Grace (Like the Power of the Cross).
I have prayed to God about it, and the answer I give is how I understand it myself.
Also, the conception in the womb is when it starts. When a life starts developing. And when every child is born into the world, they see the True light (spiritual/soul awareness).
Your soul is physically connected to you and what you think.
