I seem to end all of my relationships because i dont feel what i should for them.

Is ' The One' just a myth?

There will be several "ones". Every now and then you get struck by lightning and it is "the one". It happened to me twice, sadly I was married to some one else both times. The problem is that when you are with that special some one and all you want to do is be with them. Just to talk to them or hold them is all that you want in the world at that time - and if you make love it is more than the iceing on the cake - it is christmas morning with all the presents. The problem comes in when you have to live with them for 10 or 20 or 30 years. The bloom comes off the rose and it takes another kind of person to live that way. Quite often that "special one" is not that person. I wish I had more for you to go with, but I am married, some times happily, and I have recently been struck by lightning, but I realize that I would never leave my wife. I got christmas morning with all the presents, but I will go back home.

Your taking the "ONE" too literally, your focussing on the one and how you should feel or expect to feel, focus on the person you are with, this maybe the one, but you measuring him/them to something that no-one can measure upto, everyones expectation of the is different, you wont know that he is the one until you have been together a while, when him and you have had the oportunity to be there for each other, not just in the good times but bad as well, when your there for each other, it the test

"The one" isn't a myth, but don't look for "the one". That person will usually come when you're least expecting it and often will not be the person you think it is. When people go looking for "the one" they often don't see them at first. It's the qualities that aren't seen everyday(ones kept secret from the world) that attract us to "the one". These hidden qualities only come out to others when there is trust, happiness, and love between people. It takes a lot of patience to find "the one" for you.

Thank goodness "the one" is some fairy tale myth...I don't know where or why it got started but it's not only wrong but depressing to think about...can you imagine hoping out of over 6 billion people on the planet that you''d ever meet "the one" person who was a match for you? Your odds of winning the lottery and being struck by lightening in the same day are higher...

There are MANY potentially wonderful partners for each of us out there in the world...that doesn't mean you should settle for someone you don't feel for, but don't worry about there being only one out there that you have to try to find...

No, I believe that "the one" is not just a myth...

I believe that God spared a good man for every good woman, so they become "the ones" for each other...

We go all our lives searching for that "one", so always keep the faith that he's there, & he's searching for u too, but the right time for u two to meet hasn't come yet.

I believe that even if I didn't get married on earth, I have a better chance to marry a better man in heaven. : )

Oh my goodness, you sound exactly like me ! I'm still single at 43 because I'm still looking for "the one". When I was very young, and would ask "how do you know who you should marry" the answer was always "oh, you'll know !!!!" so I've been waiting all my life for this lightning bolt experience of "oh my God, this guy is the ONE !!!" Hasn't happened yet, so I'm wondering the same thing you are.

I'll be interested to read the answers...thanks for asking the question, because I need to know too ! Good luck :)

I've always believed in 'the one' but now being a bit older and (maybe) wiser, have met more than one person who would potentially be so, in terms of life-goals, things in common, the chemistry etc so don't dive in there at the first feeling, hold out for the best!

yes I think it is a myth.
I am 31 and spent (wasted) alot of time trying to find "the one".
Though I must admit I still do fantasise of it happening,
but have settled for a "good" man who treats me well and i do love him,
just not like i thought it would be when i found the one.
If you know what i mean.
Anyway good luck in your search : ) x

I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me.
Love was out to get me (dum dum dum dum dum)
That's the way it seems (dum dum dum dum dum)
Disappointment haunted all my dreams.

And then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer.
Not a trace
Of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love
(oooooo)
I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her
if I tried

I thought love was more or less a given thing
It seems the more I gave the less I got, Oh Yeah
What's the use in trying
All you get is pain
When I needed sunshine I got rain

And then I saw her face,
Now i'm a believer.
Not a trace
Of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love
(oooooo)
I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her
if I tried

(the love)

love was out to get (dum dum dum dum dum)
that`s the way it seems (dum dum dum dum dum)
dissapointment haunted all my dreams

And then I saw her face,
Now I'm a believer.
Not a trace
Of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love
(oooooo)
I'm a believer,
I couldn't leave her if I tried

Then I saw her face,
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind,
Now I´m a Believer
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Yeah, yeah, yeah

I'm a believer.

I'm a believer.
