By posting it here you obviously recognize that it is a problem. Now you need to recognize that it's YOUR problem and that you can't control yourself, so you need to find help. Treat it like any other addiction like drugs because the pathophysiology is the same- you are stimulating your brain's reward center with these purchases just like cocaine, and when it wears off you seek more.
If you want security and love sometime in your life, realize that most relationships between men and women end over addictions and financial problems, and you are showing signs of bringing both forms of baggage with you. Good luck- you can do it! Go play frisbee in the park with a cute girl or boy, you'll find that the best things in life are all FREE and the other stuff doesn't really make you happy for more than 10-15 minutes.

Buy something that you REALLY need:
1. Buy a power rack. Do not need anything fancy. No cables, no smith machine, etc. Just a standard power rack.
2. Buy a 7 ft. weight bar. Standard 1" diamater bar.
3. Buy assortment of standard weight plates, from 2-1/2 pounds up to 100 pounds. Two of each weight.
4. Buy a manta ray attachment.
5. Buy good weight bar clips. 6 of them.
6. Buy a wall clock with a sweeping second hand.
7. Buy 20 ft. of strong rope. 3/4" diamater rope will do.
On Saturday;
Assemble the power rack. Set the support bars about 1-2" below your shoulder height. Put two bar clips behind the support bars.
Put the weight bar on the support bars.
Tie the weight bar down strongly with the rope.
Put some weight plates on the weight bar. The rope keeps the weight bar from flipping into the air when you put the weight plates on.
Put two weight clips on either side of the weight bar. 4 clips total.
Mount the manta ray attachment under the center of the weight bar.
Mount the wall clock on the wall where it is about mid-chest high of your height.
On Sunday;
Take the rope of the weight rack.
Squat down under the weight bar, hands on the bar to balance it, manta ray under your neck and RAISE the weight bar and HOLD IT for 60 seconds.
Slowly lower the weight bar after 1 minute, put 1 pound of weight on the bar, and come back next week. 7 days later...
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thusday, Friday;
Inside our outside, do Jumping Jacks. Your goal is do 100 without stopping. Do as many as you can, pause, rest, repeat, pause rest. Do all day if necessary until you reach 100 jumps. In time, you will be able to do 100 continuously without stopping. It took me 7 months to get to 100 without stopping. I did 3 the first day...
Saturday;
Go to lunch, go to the movies. Enjoy yourself.
With these two exercises; strength building and aerobics, you will release all that tension inside of you and your desire to buy things will be replaced with a desire to exercise and feel good. Buying makes us feel good, exercise makes us feel GREAT..
Now throw in time and patience, takes about 3 months for you to completely change over. You will be a different and better person.

Try handing the bulk of your pay check over to your parents and have them put it somewhere that you can't get to it for now, and then try to figuire out why you need to buy things to make yourself feel better. It is a problem with a ton of people, at least it is just money you have and not credit card stuff, but unless you get a handle on it now, when you are older it WILL be credit card debt and then you are screwed.....been there.....it adds up fast and takes forever to pay back.......

I also am a compulsive shopper...some things that have worked for me are:
1. Direct deposit on your check...have the bank put part in checking and part in savings...if you don't see it it's easier to save
2. Make a list of what you need to buy before you go to a store and stick to it. - If you know what you're buying then it's easier to go right past what you don't, thus less impulse buying
3. - I've never tried this but there are support groups you could also try.
Good Luck!

Overspending is often related to depression. You spend your money so that you will feel happier, but it doesn't work, only temporarily. Try to put some of your money away as soon as you get it, not under your pillow, but in a bank account. Maybe you should think about how you are feeling, and if you are depressed, then seek help from your doctor.

Call me and we'll do lunch!! No, you are a shopaholic,...you just need to MAKE yourself, put some of your money away, and give yourself an allowance each week for which you can spend...then, save the rest, and believe me, when something REALLY good comes along, you will have money to buy it!

Find things to do that will help build up your house and make you feel better about it and yourself occupy your time better than shopping.
