that way they get you to buy 4 packs of buns and 5 packs of dogs so you can 40 of each, they just made their profits go way up :-)

Usually the buns come in packs of 8 and the hot dogs come in a 10 pack. My suggestions is to buy a brand of hot dog that comes in a 8 pack. We buy BallPark Beef Franks, which come in a 8 pack and then the buns are packaged in an 8 pack...perfect!
I might seems as if they package items in weird amounts sometimes to make you waste or have to buy more...but the hot dog bun makers and the hot dogs makers are completely different companies and each company has a reason for their own purposes of doing things. The method benefits the manufacturer.

Because most of the makers who make the hotdog buns and the hotdogs have to make a profit somehow. I hate it when they try to confuse you and try to make you buy multiple packs of hotdogs and hotdog buns where you have to actually pay more when it'll go bad eventually and you will have to throw out the buns and pay for the good buns in the store. The ones who do this are annoying when they thought about this.

Haven't you ever totally ruined a bun while trying to put the hotdog in? I know I have. I think the ruining 2 buns per 10 pack ratio is fair. ;)

So the last two buns will be stale and thrown out before you buy more hot dogs thus increasing the sale to the bun mfg.
