As above - no harm in short term - only your emissions will be high - don't get stopped by VOSA - if they find one thing like a faulty cat - they will go all over the car - try a scrapyard for a cat - just make sure it isn't rattly and broken. In all fairness though the prices have come down a lot - so it might be better to get a new one from an exhaust specialist (not from Vauxhall) - not difficult to fit - I did mine about 6 months ago on my Rover and it took about an hour to fit the whole exhaust system

no, the catalytic converter is only for emissions control for the environment. It filters the exhaust as it goes through it and then the exhaust goes out the tailpipe. You can get one from any salvage yard, and it would be best to have a professional install it, it's a little tricky to get it in there.

Doubtful running without a catalytic converter will damage your car. You may experience better gas milage without it.

You may have trouble finding a place to work on your car without one. And, it's possible that you could be fined.

it shouldn't damage the car but it won't pass an MOT on exhaust emissions , any vauxhall dealer should supply one and it bolts on to the exhaust easily ..easier still if you have a car ramp

It is unlawful to sell or install used converters...most salvage yard will not even consider selling you one....and unless you can weld and free rusted nuts and bolts and drill broken studs you will not be able to do it yourself...

you can get a "cat" from almost any fast fit centre.
it's only a part of the exhaust and can be fitted relatively quickly.

Shop around first though.
