Is there a religion section somewhere on Yahoo Answers? That might be a better place to prostetualize your beliefs and faith.
I might add that 'sojourn' to me means travels or visits ...not 'illegally entering' and disrupting society at all angles and costs.
Our problems in the US are not associated with people visiting here. It is with people coming here illegally, against our laws and ultimatel coming in such large numbers to live here that they are disrupting to a great degree financially and politically, to name only a few of the disruptions.
There are also clear scriptual bells in most all theological scripts, notably the Bible here, that direct those that would read and believe ...to obey the laws of Man.
The laws of Man in this case would be to induct/immigrate into the USA by doing so within the law.

I find it amusing that you can pick out two verses in the Bible to defend your position. The problem with using scripture to point out to people how you think they should live,is that then you should be using the entire Bible and not just the verses that you agree with. There are other verses that also say we are supposed to follow the laws of the land, pay taxes, not cheat, etc. If using the Bible as a defense, then use the whole thing.
There is also a verse in Leviticus that states that we are allowed to "buy" those that are temporary residents of our country, along with their family, and make them our slaves. They would then become our property.Perhaps we should follow that law too.
Those that come to this country legally are treated as one of our own, they have respected our laws. Those that chose not to follow the laws of our land and come here illegally,do not deserve to be treated as one of our own, they have disrespected our laws.
Government implements laws for the good of their citizens.Religion should have no place in those laws.

The Right wing Christians can distort anything they want, but they have to understand that America is not made up of all gullible fools.

What constitutes the Bible has been and will alway be up for debate.. The Bible has been translated from language to language by men, and there has never been a perfect man on earth! Translations for political and for power-controlling reasons can NEVER be treated as gospel truth.

Yes you are right. The only American that did not descend from an alien ancestor is native American and they walk in ages ago. One day we will all be alien again. And I want to be Christian no body truly is what they think they are.

It's funny how liberals want to use God to their advantage when they think that the scripture supports or defends their position.

Funnier still how they use small snipets of the Bible to try and prove that God is with them all the while ignoring the true nature of God when taken in the context of the entire Bible.

But then deny that God should be evident in any part of government.

Make up your mind, you can't have it both ways. Either follow God, or don't.

It is not my impression that the right-wing Christians really care one way or another about the immigration issue. Immigration is an important issue to blue collar workers of both parties because the immigrants do the blue collar jobs better, faster, and cheaper...

Religion defines what is moral and what is acceptable.

Laws define what someone can be punished for doing.

It doesn't matter what religion says on an issue. Unless the religion is running the government, the secular laws apply.

Religion and Government shouldn't be mixed. Last time it was, we got Bush touting that God told him to attack Iraq.
