I have a Whirlpool glass-top stove. It has an Accubake System that helps you bake things without burning. :-) I love the glass-top part best. It heats up faster than coils and it cooks even. I always cook for at least 8 people, so that helps cut my time spent in the kitchen. :-)

Whatever you do, do not buy a GE. I just got rid of a range with a ceramic top. Problems with ceramic: 1 they scratch if you use a cast iron pan 2 the pans you use must be flat(not warped) or the radiant heat will not be tranferred 3 you can not cook large pots(amounts) on the top 4 the heat up time is forever 5 do not plan on canning on the top. The oven part was even worse. The newer ovens and tops have this feature that will not allow you to burn things. Note it does not allow you to heat things quickly like for frying. Forget using a wok for chinese stuff. I went out and bought a gas top range with an electric convection oven. Love it. It is a Jenaire. You can find others like it but the ceramic tops and top and bottom heating ovens are not for cooks. They look good and clean up fast. Of course they are for folks that do not cook.

Kitchen-Aid is the only way to go. Any other brand is to unreliable.
