I had a bad ear infection several years ago and could not get it to clear up. I had been to the doctor and he continued to refill prescriptions for me. Several months later I saw an ENT and learned I had lost hearing in the ear. PLEASE see a doctor. You don't need this to happen to you.

the tube between the inner ear and your throat is blocked stop wasting your money on over the counter remedies they dont work the steam and using menthol crystals will help but it will take time to dry up try poping your ears it maybe painful but it will force air to the back of the eardrum and help it dry out common problem in children glue ear

This happened to me last August. Like you, I tried everything going. I am deaf on one side (with incredibly intrusive tinnitus) and gradually going crazy. Being a musician, I noticed very small differences to begin with but am now tearing my hair out.
I saw a specialist who referred me for an MRI scan (for which I am STILL awaiting the results). I am terrified as music is the only thing in my life that is important to me.
I thought initially that it was caused by swallowing a fish bone, but I am reassured otherwise. You have my complete and utter smypathy and I hope you get well.

It's probably fluid from your cold blocking your Eustachian tube at the rear of the ear. It will probably clear in time but may take a while. I am not sure if nasal treatment is the best way to tackle this.Have a word with your pharmacist.

Go to the doctor. I had a Girlfriend that went totally deaf in one ear from an ear infection the doctor gave her steroids but i guess it was too late better safe than sorry.

It is very likely you have simply got a mucous plug in the Eustachian tube. Continue with the steam, keep your fluid intake high and it should clear. At a push try xylometazoline nasal spray.

Nope. Hearing loss is a medical disqualifier to even enlist, let alone be commissioned and fly. We don;t make special hearing compensation, FFS. What happens if you get injured in one your one good ear while on a mission? Then you won;t be able to hear at all. Thanks for trying young hero, but you are not eligible to enter the US military.

my mate had this problem. he used otex eardrops 4 a few days then had his ears syringed by the nurse at the dr's surgery and that sorted it out for him. probably a good idea 2 get this done anyway, even if its not wax, just 2 rule it out. hope this helps.

Go to the Doctor. I had a similar thing, and I ignored it. My ear has never been the same since.
