There's this hot new guy at our school, and I really like him. He's looked over at me a couple times and caught me staring at him. He hangs with the popular guys ( I am friends with some of them), but I am afraid to say anything to him or my friends. What should I do?

Ask your friends to introduce you, and get something out of school organized so you have chance to get to know him in a comfortable setting.

hang out with the people he hags out (you say, you know some of the people he hangs out with, use your connections), find out what his hobbies are, this will help with the conversation with him, a good conversation is a very good point. make him laugh, and not just stare at him, next time, smile at him too, if you catch him smiling at you, smile back. be very kind with him, help him at school projects or smth. and don't bother if he's popular, you'll probably have competition, so you must be very cool, and very sure of yourself, never hesitate. you want this guy, don't you? so you flirt with him, a lot, if he's the popular type, the more you flirt with him, the better. but don't overdo it, don't hang on his neck all the time. if you two are talking about you, than be a little bit mysterious, tease him a lot (this is the part, when you have to be inventive, but don't hurt him too much, make it in a funny way, i'm sure you know how, it comes with the moment), don't put your life on a silver plate to him. ask a lot of questions about him, but make sure, he'll get interested in you, so he will ask a lot of questions. it you go on a party with him, make sure he notices you when you are dancing. don't dance like stripper, but dance good, have a lot of fun. always be very happy, and in a good mood. he'll think you are a cool girl, it always works for me. and don't try to be something different than what you are, you are a cool person, and he has to appreciate this.
most important, don't involve too many friends, especially, if they will talk about this with him. you'll be just fine, trust me, don't worry too much, be very cool about it. if everything goes as it should, he will ask you out. if not, he's a fool.

if you want to keep the b/f stop the flirting with the popular guy,you can't be popular and have no friends you said he is new and then you say he is popular,so stop the messing a round if you want Josh this other guy can do with one less friend if he is popular don't you think.You might get hooked up with a popular guy but keep in mind that they never stick to one girl.

if hes in any of ur classes u can propose that u show him around and tell him bout stuff he needs to know about the skul. wile ur doing that feel free to flirt and get hang around with him in the cafeteria r sumthin. gud lluck ; )
