For me, I came on here to see what people were thinking and it still draws me back. I truly appreciate the serious questions that are respectful. I also like to post questions here to pick other people's brains.
For instance, I've had the opportunity to learn about other religions and beliefs, and also have had questions answered that I've always wondered about.
For me, the best thing I learned was why Muslim women wear their Hajib and Burkas. From their perspective, it's not about oppression, but about being treated as something other than a sex object, and while the vast majority of American women would not like wearing that, I do respect people for that reason.
Why I keep coming back here is that this is an area where I can share my viewpoint. I may not always have the answer people like, but I hope you can accept that this is what I believe.

I've never been one to pass up a debate on theology. This place is full of them. I get mad at people sometimes, there's been a few times where I've wanted to reach through the computer and smack people, but for the most part, everyone here's good. I can't expect to agree with everything anyone says, and I know that, and I feel that a lot of others here know that.
I've always been a comparer of religions (manmade/fallible) and this gives me such a broad range of different belief systems to learn about.
I love seeing the questions that get everyone thinking without condemning each other to bad places. (And I'm sorry, but I love laughing at the rote responses to certain questions, indicating the lack of thought that goes into them.)
Anyway, maybe not the best of reasons, but oh well.

Entertainment, stupidity, a place to rant when I don't have my friends to listen to me. (When I'm p/oed I can rant about any topic and argue my side, even when I know I'm wrong), the way I can give out my opinion and no one can hassle me about it, because I can't be contacted on this site(As an opinionated girl, I've had to change e-mail addresses many times for various reasons.) A reason and place to act like an idiot, a place where people almost understand me (To fully understand me is impossible, even i don't fully understand myself.).
And of course, it's better than homework! =P

I was raised in an atheist family in Can. Ontario. Church attendance is virtually nil here. No one wants to have discussions on the God issue. I do.
You could say I was parched, living in such an arid place. I was happy to find a site where people arn't afraid of God discussions.

I am on here a lot mostly because I think the people on here that claim to be Christian are not acting like it, hitting people over the head with the Bible and their beliefs. I want to give people an idea of what really being a Christian is, not just what they seen on here.

well, I love religions, learning all I can about them, and just seeing what others believe and say about religion. I'm a religious studies major. So I can answer some of the questions and try to help people, and I just like offering my perspective on some issues.

i just really like it here. there aren't that many places where you can discuss almost anything with any kind of intelligence.
i feel like i know a lot of you, and most of the time it's really interesting.
yes, sometimes some of the people here get into bashing and ranting, but for the most part i ignore those.

I saw some questions that I had long been thinking that had been asked. I read the answers and I was hooked. That's what initially kept me here. Now it's for fun, learning and friends.
Oh and the drinking game. lol Can't let y'all get drunk without me.

Distorters of the truth, which is just about 95% of those here, without regards to Race, Creed, Color or Belief.
At times I found myself amongst them. It's the other 5% that englihtened me a little.
