Looking to buy a board, about intermediate, can plane but can't do carve gybes, waterstarts on anything like that yet, so need a board to learn these on. Sail in around Poole harbour and on reservoirs, so don't face much chop, winds from 3 - 6.

Its a tricky question. Are you heavy or light? It'll make a big difference! In the footstraps yet when you'r planing?
You should try the boards out and chose whichever you feel most comfortable with.
Have you taken lessons? Its a good way to have a go on different boards and get your skills up. They might sell you one 2nd hand if you're keen having tried it during lessons.
The Carve is an expensive board. Its a good one, but for the money, you could get something to learn on that costs loads less. As for the Kinetic???? where did that idea come from???? flea bay perhaps????
Get down to you local WS shop and try a few. Don't be mislead by the starboards popularity (it is a good board though!!)

the carve 131 is a sick board. but because we dont know your skill level or experience I would ask a friend that you surf with or an instructor or even somebody at a surf shop that can show you around. maybe they will show you a board you didn't even realized existed
