Heard a lady in Texas, died from certain disease, called leptoprosis (not sure of the spelling) 3 days later after drinking a can of Coke bought from a store.
Need proof to tell friends to wash their canned pop/ food from stores they buy it from, to deter a freak accident, low & behold, a tradgey.

I doubt you'll need to cite very many examples.

Just tell them that the cans, from the time they're originally manufactured and packed in cases and loaded on pallets and loaded onto trucks and driven across the country and unloaded from trucks and taken off of pallets and loaded onto local delivery trucks and unloaded at the stores and unpacked from the cases and put on display and handled by 20 shoppers before you pick it up and put it against your mouth, tend to get some pretty nasty stuff on them.

After all, you'd wash off a mushroom you picked out of a cow pasture before eating it, right?

Those cans aren't near as clean or fresh as that mushroom is.

Urban legend!

They come in packaged cases with plastic or boxes. They don't ship them individually. Oh yeah, and they package them immediately after they sterilize the cans, fill them with pop and seal them. Then they wash them again and package them.

If you want something to scare the s**t out of your friends go here it's about Leptospirosis: http://ezinearticles.com/?Leptospirosis:-Rat-Urine-and-Soda-Can-Lids&id=176460

But these story's are just urban legends! There aren't any CNN reports or anything like that warning the public.
