the eyes are very sensitive organs and any mistake with lazer surgery would makes you blind.
it depends on what kind of surgery you gona have and how frquent people having it?!
if it is Lazic or something like that then no need to be afraid coz it is very popular operation BUT some doctors say that it will hurt the eyes on the long range, means you will enjoy your life without glasses but when you get old and your eyes become weak as other normal people, your eyes will get weak faster.
at the end no one of us can help you coz we are not doctors and only doctors can judge on your case after examining your case.
good luck.

It is a safe procedure.
Make sure you do it at a reputed institute with a proven track record. I know of a girl with -10 who underwent Lasik & has perfect eyesight now.
However, it's not advised for people under the age of 22 years coz the cornea could still grow after it is flattened by the machine.
Also, the procedure is easy for people with thick corneas. Some hospitals will refuse to treat people with thin cornea because they may not have the more expensive equipment needed for operating on such people.
After you are done with the surgery, your eyes begin to water & itch and will be fine/clear in 2 days.

I do not know what to tell you i have had to wear glasses and contacts all my life and when i say all my life i mean that since 1st grade not fun! But my aunt got it and she turned out fine! Also one of my friends did it messed up his vision majorly! It is all up to you though! It really depends where you get it done and who does it though if you do decide to do it i would do some research on where to get it done because some places are really good others are not!
