I im'ed a girl on match.com who I felt I had a lot in common with. We were on year apart in age, she loves music and teaches it as well to elementary school kids full time. I am studying to teach it as well. So, after saying our hi's, how are you's, I said, "So I see you're into music." She says, "yeah, well it's kind of a requirement." Now, is it me, or was that a snotty reaction on her part? The conversation didn't last more than 5 minutes after she claimed to have to go do her laundry. Was she snotty or did I say something stupid to gain a reaction like that?

I don't think that was a snotty response sounds like something I might say I wouldn't think to much about it

I don't think she was being snotty nor did you say anything stupid. It sounds as though she is just not interested in you. I think you were hoping for a completely different response than the one you got. If she had been interested in you, the laundry could have waited longer than 5 minutes she spent talking to you.
Just brush it off and go on your way. I'm sure you will find someone with whom you share interests with as well as interest in each other.

If you're referring to simply that comment - no, you didn't say something stupid. You were trying to find a common ground. I don't think her answer was necessarily snotty although I could see where you read it that way. Just remember - you can't tell tone over IM'ing. If you really like her, email her again and tell her you hope you didn't offend her - you were just looking for commonalities.

Well it doesn't sound like u said anything wrong.Plus if u can't see her face u really don't know how she meant it. She could of just been saying that because it's a requirement and she wouldn't of taken it otherwise. When typeing things u really don't know how to take things sometimes.Ask her if she likes music and if it wasn't a requirement would she of taken it.If she says yes then it was snotty answer..Good luck

What's wrong with you, dude? I don't think anything she wrote was "snotty". You could have asked a follow up question such as, "What kind of requirement?"

Afterall, you are on match to meet other singles. That medium is to fully understand a potential mate. You may have taken it the wrong way. Sorry, bud!

it may be that she meant what she said one way and it came across to you in a different way.

you probably could have phrased the comment a little differently, but that's a moot point.

I think she made the comment, and then felt like it didn't come out they way she intended it to. In turn, that created an awkward moment and the conversation was kind of shot after that.
