I'm going to be a junior in high school next year and I am concerend about my science class. I am in bio this year, and since I was lazy first semester, I am going to have to retake bio for the first semester of next year. Most juniors are going to be in chemistry next year, but I'm worried that since I failed the first part of bio my teacher will reccommend me to oceanography. And from what ive heard colleges like to see chemistry on your transcript. But I also know tons of kids that have failed chem.

And since I'm taking bio as my first semester elective next year, I am able to take 2 sciences at once.

It does depend on which college you wish to attend. If you are attending an elite college then this may matter.

If you are attending a public institution then it may not matter at all. They could require you to start with a more basic science class and then you would end up taking 1 extra year, but all in all it is more often NOT a cause of you being accepted or not.

Also, you could take chemistry as a senior still.

Why dont you just take summer school for the part of bio you failed...as long as its not an advanced class, you can do that and still get the credit for it yet raise your grade as well.
