I'm just wondering which type ("color", I guess) of soda rots your teeth the quickest? LoL.
(As in dark, I mean rootbeer, Coke, Dr. Pepper, etc. For light, Sundrop, Mt. Dew, Sprite, Sierra Mist, 7 up, etc.)

I don't think it matters. It's all the sugar that rots the teeth. Stay away from the stuff. Drink water.

They are really both bad. The carbonation mixes with the sugar and other plaque on your teeth and creates an acid that eats away at the enamel on your teeth (and no trident can't help) PLUS if it's no diet soda it's got about as much sugar in it as a ziploc bag full. I would stick with water. If you really need a soda fix, make sure it's not everyday and brush your teeth really well afterwards.

It is the sugar in the soda, not the color, that will rot the teeth. So the more sugar a particular soda has, the faster it would rot your teeth. But, darker sodas can discolor teeth.

I think the color doesn't matter as much. Both light and dark contain a ton of sugar, which is really bad for your teeth. If I had to choose one, it'll be dark because it can make stains on the surface of your teeth.

its not the sugar that rots your teeth. the sugar attracts micro organisms that rot waway at your teeth. so if you brush your teeth right after drinking/eating sugar... or soda which has sugar in it... they won't rot your teeth. leaving the sugar lingering attracts the little teeth rotters and thats what rots them. not the soda. so im gonna say that whatever soda has the most sugar is the worst but all sodas will do the same if they have sugar

I'm a dentist.

It's the sugar in the soda that "rots" your teeth. As such, 7-Up and Coca-Cola rot your teeth equally well.

Of course, the colas (i.e. dark sodas) also can stain your teeth.

I think as far as rotting your teeth it would be whichever has more sugar no matter what the color is but the darker ones would stain your teeth more.

My dentist once told me that if you are going to drink soda, drink the regular not diet. The sugars in the diet are worse for your teeth. He never mentioned color?

All refined sugar is bad for your teeth. However, darker soda is the worst.

My dentist told me that if I have to have soda, then avoid the dark ones because they stain your teeth.
