I travel alone all the time, and I stay in hostels so I meet other people ... plus it's cheaper, so I can go further, see more, and stay longer ...
For your trip it depends on how long, for 3 weeks, I'd suggest you take the Fez-Bus 'hop-on, hop-off' tour of Turkey. You'll be surrounded by other backpackers who all want the same as you, a few monuments, fantastic scenery and history, great beaches and lot's of fun at places like Olympos Treehouses or Saklikent Gorge! ...
The Hostels there cost only about $10 USD a night - and that's for a single room with ensuite bathroom - it's half that for a dorm!
If it's less time than that, I'd suggest you head to Spain or France and travel around the coast for a bit, staying in hostels, checking the beaches out, and having fun.
For example, in Barcelona, you can stay at the Sea Point Hostel for £13 a night, and it's right on the beach!
Happy Trails

How about the Le Sport Resort in St Lucia? It is the only all-inclusive hotel on the island that caters for single people. There are loads of activities laid on during the day, so there are lots of opportunities to meet people. And there is always something going on in the evening.

Try Galicia, it´s a different Spain...sports include surf, sky surf, windsurf, water skiing, hiking, horse treks, bungee jumping, canoeing. Noia is famous because it is the european town with more bars for it´s population so there´s a lot of places to socialise...you´ll find the people very friendly, the food and drink fantastic, economic flights by ryan air to santiago de compostela, and very economic hotels or boarding houses. take a look at http://www.galiciahouse.com
