I would NEVER throw clothes away, but I'm kinda a germ freak. I'm a little scared that if I donate old clothes it will spread germs. So is donating the best thing to do, or is there something better? If there is please tell me!!! :)

donating clothes is a wonderful thing to do. wash them prior to giving them to the collection. also, i think most people would wash them before putting them on. either the buyers will wash them or the centers. and if you know you are clean, you have nothing to worry about. or if its the fact that the clothes will sit in the collection center next to clothes of others, donate them privately to a family or friend. give the clothes to an appropriate home: little baby clothes- give them to a new family, etc. don't let your fear outweigh the good in the situation here.

Well, wash the clothes before you give them to charity so as not to spread germs, and giving them(the clothes) away will help a TON of people.

the donation places in my area do wash or clean them if they can or even lysol everything. They do take procedures.
Donating is always better than throwing away
