ok, im 14, and a girl.
i pretty much hate my bedroom. its blue with light blue spongies, and a flip flop border, my mom and grandma are disney crazy so they buy me tons of tinkerbell stuff, even though i think its childish, and i hate it in my room. im stuck with my moms bedroom set. its an antique and ive been begging them to let me paint it forever. my rooms about a medium size room. but my furniture takes up WAY too much space, and i dont really have enough storage, because everythings everywhere. im envoloved in volleyball and softball and horses, so i dont have much time to keep it picked up,or relax, so i kinda want something that will stay neat and tidy by itself and without alot of time consuming cleaning. and id like something i can do my homework, and relax a bit in. i know its alot to ask for, but if you have any ideas, please help me!! and i am sorry for it being so long.

I'm 18, and I'm about to move out of my house (woo, college), but I had the same problem a few years ago. One of the best things you can do for your room is collapsible compartments. You can find these pretty much anywhere (Target, The Container Store, and Bed Bath and Beyond, to name a few) and they're relatively inexpensive. I labeled each compartment and it made clean up so much easier. Other than that, you'll have to try and covince your mother that you've outgrown your room. You might have to start with one thing at a time, in case she can't handle such a huge shift, but make sure to explain how inconvinient your room is. Your bedroom should provide comfort and relaxation, not an extra burden.

Hope things turn out okay!

Hi, don't worry about being so lengthy in your question, it was exactly your feelings. So why don't you research different places online, when you have the time, that have to do with decorating. I don't know if there is like a "room makeover" that you could do but I bet if you "google it" there will be something. then when you have the idea of what you want present it to your Mom. Tell her you would like to be involved in fixing up your room since you have to live in it, and you want to create your style! I'm sure your Mom just wants to do the best for you but you need to be able to express what you want too. Hope this helps a bit and good luck in softball!

Have you talked with your mom? She needs to see you aren't 6 years old any more.

I can't blame her for not wanting you to paint the furniture. Fortunately, deep brown is really easy to work with. Sit down with a paper and pencil and write out what you do want. That will help you to think too.

For the rest, try to get shelves and racks to help hold your things.

Good luck!

go to hgtv.com & look at the decorated girls rooms. When you see something you'd like, show it to her. Maybe she'll like it & help you do it.
