Hi there. I think the bird doesn't perceive the glass door as being an obstacle. Put some decals or even taped paper for a week and she will stop flying into the glass door. Have a great day everyday.

I think she thinks her reflection is another female sparrow, and this is mating season, and the females become aggressive towards any other birds they think is a threat. There is likely nothing you can do to make it so she can't see her reflection. We have a finch feeder hung so it's hanging a little ways out from a big window in our sun room, and they won't use it because they see their reflection behind the feeder and think it's another bird trying to scare them. That's all I can think of. Robins do the same thing. Hope this is helpful.

The bird is probably hungry and is used to beeing fed. My mom had a squirel that did the same exact thing because my mom fed it all the time then stopped feeding it. Eventually the squirel went away though.

Maybe you should get a small bird feeder.

some years lower back I saved a Praying Mantis as a puppy, and that they purely consume stay food! consequently, I gained the capacity of gently shooting stay flies in flight, or off any floor, so as that i'd desire to feed my Mantis unhurt and lively prey. maximum moving incident exchange into late one night whilst on arrival residing house i discovered my Mantis laying off its pores and skin. I watched, enthralled, for over an hour and that i shall by no capacity forget approximately seeing my Mantis steadily advance and unfold its type new rainbow-shimmering wings. next day I released it onto a grapevine in my backyard, an identical backyard wherein I hence discovered a swarm of very tiny, at the instant hatched mantids! they are the cutest little creatures you may desire to ever think of.

that same thing happened to my sister! this bird kept pecking her bathroom window. then when we came into the bathroom, it flew away and pecked at her bedroom window.
i think maybe the bird was hungry. if you leave it some food it's possible it may be distracted from whatever it saw in your door. just leave it alone. don't shoot it! what's the point? it's not destroying your garder, at least.

why don't you try putting out bird seed in a feeder in the vicinity of the window? also, put a couple of dots (stickers) on the glass, so that the bird can perceive that the door exists..

Put some seed on the sill and enjoy her company. Perhaps she has been fed by humans in the past and trusts them. I have a titmouse that sits on my window and has breakfast every morning.
