I love my kids, they are almost grown now, finally the youngest in her senior year of college, and remember I love them very much as I say this....the rewards come now and really only now and that is not all on them.....they were easy compared to most. I was a single mom, had to work, (we were divorced so I did get some help), but it was hard. YOu have to be willing to almost forget yourself entirely and always do for them and put them ahead of you. I am also a worrier, constantly worried about them...part of that was probably a single mother thing but I can't speculate what a "whole family" life would feel like.Having said all that.....here are two really GOOD reasons.....I see the fruits now of my labor......
If I never did anything else right in my life, I have raised two really great human beings who are honest, caring, responsible, productive......very very happy people, who will hopefully go on to make this world a better place.....at the end of my days I will leave this world knowing that I did at least that one thing right.......that is the good reason....in the end, it was more than worth it......it is not just a great thing, it's the only thing.

- Keeps the gene pool diverse.
- If you raise them well, you make a positive contribution to society. You could the parent of the scientist who cures cancer, or finds a cheap, clean, renewable source of energy for commercial use.
- You learn a lot about life from watching a life unfold.
- They make you think, and recall your old algebra lessons.
- Kids are adorable, and can be a source of great joy.
- I admit they can also drive you crazy, but it builds character.
- You get to live with someone who adores you and looks up to you, or at least grudgingly respects you.

I believe that some people want children to help satisfy some need they have, some do it because they think that it will help a relationship. Some want them to continue on a name, some to continue on humanity. Some do it because of religious beliefs. I believe that deep down many people have a maternal/paternal instinct that just wants a child. There are exceptions though.

a good reason to have kids is so you and your partner can have something together. Its wonderful watching them grow and learn. Especially when you watch there fascination when they learn something new. Having kids can show some people feelings they never knew existed. Also kids help us remember to slow down and not take life so seriously.

A feeling of fulfillment and complete and utter joy if you grow them up right. This is one way you can find true happiness. Can you imagine what your parent felt like the first time you said Mama or papa?
