I am taxed on my paycheck, then when I go to the store to buy something, I am taxed again.

We all pay different types of taxes. The taxes on your pay check are medicare tax, social security tax, and federal income tax (withholdings). When you buy something from the store, you are paying sales tax.

Other types of taxes we pay are school taxes, MUD taxes, excise taxes on gas we purchase for our vehicles, road use taxes when we register our vehicles, etc.

Yes, you pay taxes on many different things but the taxes pay for different things. School taxes go toward funding public education. Sales taxes generally go toward funding state or local government and programs. Social security taxes fund the social security system...you get the idea.

No.... You crazy...

We are dodecahedron taxed.

The producers are taxed on the banana twice (property tax and capital gains tax)
The distributors are taxed on that same banana (twice, vehicle tax [depending on state] and shipping tax)
The wholesalers are taxed on that banana (business license w taxes)
The retailers are taxed on that same banana (grocery sto)_
The consumer is taxed via sales tax

and this banana is taxed in all these areas by the state and by the federal government.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.... The Republicans are trying to push through an eating tax.
