It is illegal for an adult to hit a child and I would have him arrested immediately.

I don't know if I could have shown the same restraint as you, but kudos for demonstrating to your child that violence isn't the correct path -even when in the face of violence.-

You said violence isn't the answer. I would normally agree but not this time. Someone who terrorizes a child this way is a bully. Bullies are cowards so the threat of violence at the hands of an angry adult(s) would straighten him out.

Don't want blood on your hands? Call the police. I am sure this is illegal.

Labs and retrievers are great and intensely trainable. you besides mght would desire to evaluate in case you want a canines that remains indoors or exterior. A canines with a thicker coat or undercoat needs a extra temperate climate. that's truly helpful to analyze breeds (terriers, labs, dalmatians, etc). each and each has inherent traits that permit you to appreciate lots approximately what to anticipate out of them. case in point, terriers have been bred to dig for small animals in hunts which you will come across little holes that populate the backyard. helpful comments and not continuously re warding with treats is a robust concept whilst coaching and preparation. stable success!

I agree with the "cop" decision. I would have called them before my kids lip was swelled up. You might ask the police to run a background check on the jerk too. Godloveya.

oh my gosh.
if a man came over and started abusing your kid you need to report him or confront him about it.
that is not ok! that is considered child abuse and if he went as far to start hitting your child you should have stopped him.
was there any provocation including your child? its hard to believe a mature 25 year old man would start hitting an 8 year old.

Go down to the nearest Police place, tell them exactly what happened.

They'll arrest the guy, as they should.

Do NOT take the law into your own hands, as you'll just get in trouble for it, instead of him.

When my kids were 2 and 3 years old, a neigborhood man drove by and threw rocks at them while we were outside in our yard. I paid him a visit. He moved away right after that and I never saw him again.

If you don't call the police on this SOB, YOU should be held for child neglect. NO child deserves to be hit by anyone!
