If someone came to you& said they knew about some burried treasure at a certain place;& they would give you the information to go find it.But the information only gives general info,it doesnt tell you exactly the area it's burried, doesnt say how deep, doesnt tell what land marks to look for or there are none,it only tells what directions to move but not exactly how far to move in each direction,&it doesnt tell you how much treasure there is,just that it's a lot.

Do you go off of faith, pack up&go search for the treasure?Or do you remain skeptic tell the person to keep their directions to treasure.Explain answer please?

I wouldn't go. I really do have my hands full as it is.

It depends on how trustworthy the person was. If the person, when asked how he knew there was treasure there, said an invisible pink unicorn wearing visible polka-dotted boxer shorts told him about it, then I'd 1) be a little skeptical and 2) encourage him to seek the assistance of a mental health specialist.

I wouldn't trek halfway across the world, wasting time and resources looking for a buried treasure, if there wasn't good information supporting its existence. Even experienced treasure-hunters thoroughly research things before they go treasure-hunting. They don't just dig randomly.

Unlikely.

Like most things, there is a criteria of truth which is always used.

How much trust has the person that tells me engendered, from being trustworthy in the past? Is there a good reason that this person could know this info? Is there good reason to believe such a treasure really exists. Though I know treasures do exist, having seen them, I don't know that this does.

Balance this against: How much effort and time would it take to search.

If someone that simply gave me this information and I didn't know them from Adam, hell no. If they were honest, but flakey, still hell no. If I had no reason I can see to know this information, then why would I waste my time.

It would take a lot of time to find that treasure. Time I could use improving my life in other ways then digging for treasure, I am not so certain even exist since the person can't give me a clear cut answer. It's like a lottery ticket, the chances of me winning are slim. The chances of me finding that treasure are slim. I have always been too rational to do that.

I would ask "If you know where the treasure is, why didn't you dig it up and come to my house and brag about it?"
And I would want to know why they think that this treasure is there. And why do they know about it? Who told them?

What I really want to know is why bother with some treasure that probably won't really help me in the long run of my life?

What am I supposed to do with this treasure anyways?

This would most likely be a prank, conceived by my friends because they were bored and decided that watching me scurry off to find a non existent treasure. Boys get a kick out of that kind of stuff.

In conclusion, I wouldn't go. I'd say to the messenger, "Screw you, I'm not going. Give the directions to /insert friend's name here/. Tell him to find it!

Faith doesn't necessarily attach itself to the sole (or soul) belief in God.

It's having an innate knowledge that something, someone is there without necessarily having tangible proof. It's not reserved singularly for the belief in a Supreme Being.

Therefore, an antheist can have faith.

That would be like saying being religious is nothing more than how the word in defined in the dictionary...to do something, anything repetitively.

Heck no. With the lack of info you describe that treasure could be anywhere. And I'm looking for "a lot" of treasure? How do I know that if I find it it's not just gonna be a note that says something like "love one another" or something equally douchebaggy? Count me out.

No way. Without specific instructions, I could easily spend my entire life looking for the treasure, and that's assuming it exists in the first place. It's just not worth it.
And seriously, what possible explanation could this guy have for knowing only the direction of the treasure? He has no idea where it is, how far it is, or how deep it's buried, but somehow he knows the exact direction? He's clearly making it up.

In Og's halcyon days, perhaps. Today, Og go in with clan, form corporation, draw up documents for sharing of profits, hire treasure hunters (at commission) to hunt for it. To Og's way of thinking this not unlike going to Church today. Somebody hunted the treasure and put it on display weekly. Only problem is, it's like that circus sideshow with the Esquilax that we're told is some magical creature and now that we see it up close, it's just a rabbit. Og glad he not get every opportunity to piss away money on treasure hunts.

No! it could be ANYWHERE and you don't even know how much is there! I would remain skeptic, until the person produced proof that it is actually there and something, not like a buried can of soda. And I could spend, like, all my life searching for a possibly non-existant thing, and that would be a waste of time.

I have responsibilities to keep. I have to provide for my family. I must go to my job. I cannot galavant to search for hidden treasure, and waste my time, deny my responsibilities, my life on a wild goose chase.

I would tell the person to go search for this treasure themselves and show me the result of their success.
