she is a new mom but has a very demanding job outside the home. i am not close by and have purchased a gift certificate for a massage but since this is a "big" b-day would like to get her something more - any ideas?

You can have a star named after her, she will receive a certificate and a map of where the star is.

I have my 35 in a week or so, am single with a dog and cat and very frugal, also have a demanding job. What would I like...
someone to walk the dog while I take a hot bath when I get home for a week, month, etc
open air tickets to come back home
time with my mom, she is gone now
my best suggestion is to spend time with her wether it be lunch and shopping or a weekend at a hotel. You can not buy that.

But would it be impossible for you to be there for this special occasion??
I enjoy so much spending time with my mom..And I'm soon to be 40..Go with her to get a massage..
Just take a day and spend some alone time with your daughter if at all possible..This will mean more to her than anything..

I'm pretty sure she will love the message, you should get her another so she bring a friend or you should go with her no one likes get massaged alone. if you want to get her something more, do what I did for my sister it was cute and costs nothing i made it myself, it was a coupon book to use for anything she wanted. like if she wanted a babysitter she would call me and tell me she was going to use her babysitter coupon. or if she needed help around the house. she would use her chores coupon. you might not like this idea but my sister loved it she still has plenty of coupons to go. you can also just by a lil person charm it's a lil kid with a birth stone for a stomach, you just pick the right birth stone.

offer to babysit for a weekend while she is at a spa...that way she can relax knowing her child is in good hands!
