It's a temper tantrum. She is using it to control you. I went through this with my youngest. I thought she was having seizures and actually went to the neurologist. Dealing with this was awful and nothing worked UNTIL I ran into a friend who gave me this tip. This kind of temper tantrum actually gets so out of control that the child CAN'T stop once it gets going good. A lot of time they have to exhaust themselves before they can stop. This isn't good for YOU or for them. She suggested that I keep a plant mister handy at all times. Whenever this would get out of control, I would mist my daughter with cool water right in the fast. It would "shock" her out of it and help her to control herself. It really works great.
Funny, but true story. Her tantrums got fewer and fewer until she rarely had them and we stopped carrying the mister around. We were sitting at dinner and suddenly she started up (she was 3 then). My husband just reacted and picked up his water glass and dumped it on her head. We ALL went into a momentary shock and then started laughing hysterically. Even her! That was the last tantrum she has ever had. LOL.

Could be she is having tantrums. But you are very wise to have the Dr check her out. If she can verbalize ask if she had pain? Have you introduced a new member to the household lately? Have you been so busy you can not devote as much time to her? Two year olds are very sensitive. They will throw a "fit" if they hear the word "no" . Try some extra TLC when she starts to cry.

This is totally normal. Your doctor will tell you this as well. She is trying to become more independent and asserting herself. It probably usually seems to happen when she does not get her way. You will get threw it just hang in there. It is called the terrible twos. Just be careful when she throws herself backwards not to let her hurt herself. Also bring as little attention to it as possible. Let her throw her fit. That way she does not get rewarded in a sense for her behavior. Some kids get into the habit of liking the attention they get from the fits they throw.

i have a 4 year old nephew who went through a similar phase. we decided that maybe it was just something to do with growth spurts or teething, and that it wasn't abnormal for a two year old to be throwing tantrums. after about a month, he slowly started calming down and around christmas he was pretty much back to normal
preschoolage moodswings?

This period is called "the terrible twos," and they're perfectly normal. You can, of course, take her to the doc. Something may well be wrong with her, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
