I am planning to study my degree in Philippines, do I have to get permission from the government here that I'm going to study in Philippines?

It's a free country, you can travel as you please.

No you don't lose your citizenship. BUT, there is the snowbird rule of medicare. If you spend less than 6 months a year in Canada you lose your medical coverage. I believe it takes a year to get it back when you return.

You don't need permission but if you leave in mid 2007, then you should file a 2007 tax return with Revenue Canada, especially if you made money in 2007.

How about finding someone who left Canada to study? They would know the in and out, the red tape etc...If you consult with government agencies, they will not tell you the whole story. They will make it sound Rosie and you will likely get some bad surprises when you try to come back. The best, is to talk to someone who done it.

as long as u pay your bills to your house or apartment you just change the billing adress and u can stay out for as long as u want
