WHOA! That is a very 'interesting' question, and one I'd never really 'thought about' until now ...
I always thought that Porky Pig was the 'representative of humanity at it's worst' and that isn't a 'particularly funny' picture ... and I really never thought of the 'cartoon pig' as being anything BUT that, nor thought that it could be seen as 'religiously offensive' to those whose 'religion' forbids them to 'eat pork.' That's also many Jews (the Orthodox ones don't eat pork, nor do many 'Reformed') as well as Muslims. I'm going to have to 'go sit and ponder' your question, and I may ask some of the Muslims and Jews who are my friends what their 'take' on your question is. THANK YOU for 'opening my eyes' this Sunday ...

It depends on where they live or how they were informed about the pork prohibition by their religion. It is not only the Muslims who have that kind of belief. Hindu and Judaism too. Watching cartoons about Porky Pig may not be a problem unless it shows someone eating pork. It is like ordinary Americans watching dog or cat shows but they will be terribly upset when it shows dog being eaten by humans.

I'm Muslim and just so you know IIf I had to eat pork because I was starving and nothing else was around I would. Now that is out of the way. You're going to find the weird ones who'll put up a big hiss fit because Porky the Pig is a pig and then on the other hand you'll get those who could care less.
Porkaphobia now that's a good one. That would be taking it to the very extreme. Tee heee

If Fatima and Ali had a problem with their kids watching Porky Pig cartoons, it would NOT be based on the prohibition against eating pork but against the viewing, or creating an image, of a living thing; something which the prophet Mohammed explicitly proscribed.

Probably as upset as when the parents in a Jewish household came home and found their kids watching Porky Pig.

Realistically in the muslim religion it is not a sin to view a pig as it is inevitable that they one day will, it is however a sin to eat the pig as it is seen as unclean, viewing cartoons is innocent only muslims who misinterpret the religion may take it a step further.

They are forbidden to eat pork. Nothing was mentioned in the Koran about watching pigs. Did you even have to ask such a silly question?

No, this is not silly.
During the month of Ramadan, 1979, Turkish TV would not show the Muppet Show, because of Miss Piggy.
