then why are they all surprisingly simular? To varing degrees they all say pretty much the same thing......

My religion is not "The" religion. It is "a" religion, like all the rest. They are not the truth in themselves, but paths that can lead to the truth. As various paths to the same goal, they have some similarities.

This is true. If you look at the basic tenets of each religion they are all founded on the same principles of love of God and love of neighbor. The problem is that human nature is so competitive that every one has to be the best. Mine is better than yours mentality is what starts hatred, mistrust and wars.

Because they are all supposed to teach morals and morals are generally the same. They only differ when it comes to how to worship the god of the religion and whatever else is specific to that religion.

Yeah, you're right. Just like the analogy of the raindrop in sunlight. The same drop of water, an entire spectrum of colors, like a prism.
