lighting striking water?

How is it if i am swimming and lighting strikes i could die but the fish around me will live?

i think it unlikely to strike water first as something tall such as a tree would offer a better conducter..good question though i should imagine IF fish live u would.. if you die.. so would the fish..?

Fish have be known to be struck by lightning, and float to the top in Florida!
