Yes it's bad. The hair splits into two and then breaks off because it's so thin. You can't repair split ends but you can stop them from happening by using a good conditioner, being VERY gentle with your hair when it's wet, it's very prone to breakage at this time, and don't put it in tight buns or pony tails as this also causes breakage.

Split ends are bad for your hair. They also will make your hair look frizzy and kind of bushy at the ends. I have naural curly hair and if I don't keep it trimmed reguarly, I end up looking like Bozo the Clown. Another way to help prevent split ends is never cut your hair when it is dry, use a good conditioner, and use a comb when its wet. Only use a brush when your hair is try and that helps some. Yes.
You must trim the split ends to stop the hair from splitting further up to the hair follicle. The more the hair splits the weaker that strand of hair becomes.
So basically you are forcing the weakness up the strand by peeling the split end away.
Rather purchase a small scissors that you can carry with you and snip the strand of hair just above the split end off.

Yes it is bad for your hair. Although split ends can go up the entire length of the strand, when you peel the splits you accelerate the damage.

yes peelin split ends apart is bad...u could cause urself to have breakage in the end ur best bet is to have a regular trim every 6 weeks or just trim the end w/ the split n put some olive oil on ur hair to keep it mosture

I used to do it all the time and when you do it frizzes your hair and makes it look like you have bed head all the time so stop doing and get maybe a 2 inch trim then use a conditioner and keep it wrapped under a towel for about 15 minutes....a deep conditioner though...good luck

Well I've heard you should cut off the split ends?? (Like the frizz, the ones that stand up if thats what you mean)

yes, it damages your hair alot. Don't be afraid to go trim them off. You hair will grow faster once you have cut them.

yes you need to go to a salon and get your split/dead ends cut off, or it will ruin your hair making it look frizzy and poofy!
