Ok so I have already posted a similar question but... I want to get two tattoos to symbolize my mother and father and all they have done for me.. I posted that I was thinking about getting their lip prints on my shoulder blades symbolizing that they "bless" me but ppl thought it was a little strange. I'm at a lost.. Any ideas? I really don't want the cliche things like a butterfly or flower.. any help would be awesome! Thanks!

I actually like the idea of their lip prints tatted on your shoulder blade{right next to eachother/one directly below the other}is actually cute because it symbolizes that it all began with a kiss..
Boyfriend kissing Girlfriend than Husband kissing Wife & before they knew it Mommy & Daddy kissing their new born child who is now a full grown woman whom they never stopped loving, besides you carry their love on your shoulders as a shining example of what life is really about....
Screw evcerybody who doesn't have the opened mind,eyes,body,&spirit to get the true meaning behind the lips...I feel you & I hope you go with it..... =)

If the lip prints on your shoulder blades are what you want, then get those. Tattoos should be a personal thing - a lot of people who are really into tattooing as an art will commend you for being creative with your design instead of going the "normal" path of getting their names on a heart. I, personally, think it's a really neat idea, and anybody who thinks it seems incestuous is going a little over the top.

How about a female symbol (also known as the symbol for Venus) and the male symbol (Mars) touching or interlocking, each with something personal inside the circle? Like if your Mom loves a certain flower, put it in the Female symbol, or your Dad's name in Hebrew inside the Male? Might be interesting.

Probably the hip considering that that is like bon regularly however I'm be definite. I recognize the ribs r a rather painful position to get tattoos as good as your ft. Then once more all tattoos harm so expec anguish both means

You obviously thought the lip prints would be a good idea..who cares if others thought it was strange. Getting a tattoo is all about what it means to YOU.
I am completing an incredibly large piece that depicts life issues I am going through. To others it may not make sense, but to me, it means the world.
Good luck with your choice...once its in your skin, it's your's. Be sure its what you truly desire.

what you want to symbolize your parents should be your decision. it shouldn't matter what others say. if something reminds you or means something of a person or yourself then get it. because if it symbolizes your parents then you shouldn't regret it in the future. and the clinche things like a butterfly or flower is way TOO TYPICAL and i think that is pointless. get something unique and like i said if it symbolizes your parents it's something different. you are your own person. no matter what someone is going to say something. with or with out tattoo.

Im not sure how youre Mom and Dad feel about the whole Tattoo thing, but if theyre cool with it, maybe you sould ask them i there is something special they might think would be appropriate ....maybe something that especially reminds them of you>?
