I got pulled for next to nothing years ago....
When I went to get my documents...I'd made a mistake and thought my MOT was up the following month when it was actually up that month and the date had passed.

I had 7 days to produce my documents, so I booked my car in for an MOT the next day....It passed ok.

When I held in my documents..I explained what had happened to the officer. The fact that I had been honest and that my car had passed he let me off....
Had my car failed and needed work to pass, I think it would have been a different story.

I'd book it in for an MOT ASAP!

A few days ago? Don't you only have five to produce it?? I hope you aren't planning on any long trips!

Get your MOT done ASAP - like yesterday, and pray that they will take a good view that you are an honest, hard-working person who genuiniely forgot. Other than that, your insurance is invalid, so not only will they throw the book at you for driving a possibly unroadworthy car, but also for driving it without valid insurance.

You need to be ~ever~ so nice to the police when you do go and explain the situation!

Don't know for sure but fine likely. You may also get charged for driving without insurance and an MOT as your insurance becomes void if not supported by MOT.
Unlucky!

If you don't produce your MOT certificate, depending on whether you have any previous, they may let you off with a caution. I had an accident few years ago (not my fault) and my MOT had run out. I was lucky and they let me off with it. You may get a small fine, not sure.

the penalty is that your insurance is void if you do not have an MOT, therefore you will get done for driving an unsafe car and driving without insurance.
