I was involved in a highway road accident with my friend, an off-duty San Diego Peace Officer. His friend recommended us a chiropractor.

After the appointment (which seemed like basically a bad massage from my ex-girlfriend who had the shakes) He was trying to sell me vitamins obviously from Costco (Kirkland Signature) at marked up price and also tried to sell magazines such as Blender, Maxim, FHM, Stuff, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Moms, and other "men's magazines". He was very pushy and he wouldn't let me leave without buying two things.

I went separately but my friend had a similar experience with the same doctor so is this normal? I understand the health aspect of vitamin supplementation, but the skin magazines? Maybe to increase circulation or endorphins?

I'm a chiropractor and in no way shape or form do we sell magazines or learn how to do so in school. I obviously wasn't there but it sounds fishy. I would like to learn more about the situation.

I sell vitamins in my office.

I would DEFINATELY see another chiro. If you were in an accident, it's very important that you get chiro care. but not from that guy!

This was out of line. I like chiropractic, but this is the kind of thing that gives it a bad name.

Find another Chiro!
