not just from the school itself, but are there essay contests, particpation grants etc for kids going to a Catholic High School?

I love to know, too. I have three in Catholic high school, and four in Catholic grade school....I'll have 4 high school students for the next 5 years.
Ask the school, they may know....there may also be Catholic businessmen who will hire your kids if they know they are helping pay their tuition.
We put in service hours to help with ours, and the scholl have arrangements with a local bank for low rate tuition loans, that really helps.

I would do a search on Fastweb or scholarships.com and see if they offer scholarship or grants for perochial school students.
