It really doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?
start with the "original sin" The "sin" was knowledge. If god really didn't want them to eat the fruit, then why would he put temptation in their way in the garden of eden? If he is omniscient, then he KNEW at creation that they would eat the fruit. So why did he bother? Unless he just likes to watch things suffer. Xians will mumble something about "free will", but this is a meaningless non-answer.
And why is man condemned to an eternity in hellfire, because god couldnt forsee his creation doing exactly what they did....the worst sin of all in christianity....the acquisition of knowledge?
And why couldn't god just forgive? Why does he have to go through the bizarre convoluted exercise of impregnating a Jewish teenager, having some aspect of himself raised as a human, perform a few magic tricks and have himself executed by the state? And if you don't happen to hear about this story, or find it implausible, again, you are condemned to an eternity of torture.
It is utter nonsense, and the most illogical, unlikely premise for a religion. Why people still believe this kind of horror tale rubbish is beyond me.
Christianity and it's retarded brother, Islam, are among the most bizarre, evil death cults ever created by man

Everything that I see and understand about life strongly suggests that it is much better to love one another than it is to hate one another. Jesus was right about that! Wasn't the message at the Sermon of the Mount sharing? So what is wrong with sharing, call it foriegn aid if you like? Do you notice a similarity between many of the questions about God in Yahoo Answers to the passage in the Bible at Mark 15 #32. "Let this Christ, This King of Israel, come down now from the Cross, that we may see and believe." We may see and believe? Who needs proof? Face it, what Jesus taught has been misinterpreted by authorities who are more concerned with social control than the intent of Christ. The proplem is not Jesus, God or Christianity, the problem is some people are consciously bending the message of Jesus to serve the purposes of harboring whealth and controling other people. Try reading the words of Jesus, and not listening to some other person doing the thinking and caring for you. Wasn't Jesus a King who chose to wear rags, ride Donkeys and truly know, the rewards of peace and love? No?

You have no right to say something like that to someone's holy book. I am not a christian though but i have been taught by my religion to respect others ppl's beliefs. Now coming back to the question, i don't believe in this concept either because everyone is responsible for his own deeds so jesus wasn't tortured for the forgiveness of his ppl's sins. Every person will be held accountable for his own acts. Nobody can then come in between God and u on the day of judgement.

First lets pick on your wording, in Hebrews 13:8 we understand Jesus the second member of The Godhead has been forever, there as it says never been a time Jesus was not with The Father, and Jesus sent Himself on a mission of mercy just as much as Jesus did so we can see as much as what God is like and live, also when Adam and Eve sinned they pulled as it were the plug on life and so Jesus came paying YOUR price because it was too much for you to pay the natural results of sin is death and someone had to pay that price For God "SO" LOVED you [not a oxymoron] that He gave Jesus so "IF" you will BE-LIVE in Him [enough to keep His commandments Jn 14:15] you will not perish but have eternal life Jn.3:16, find out more free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com OR www.amazingfacts.org tallk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com God bless

After Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, there was a separation from God. In the old testament bible times the people would offer animals to be sacrificed for their sins to be moved forward another year. It required a blood sacrifice to forgive sin. Jesus, the son of God was sent to earth in the new testament times to become a perfect sacrifice for mankind. No more animals sacrifice is needed now, Jesus paid the price. Id we accept Jesus as our personal savior and are sorry for our sins and willing to turn away from them, we can ask God to forgive us and He will.

God set the law "without the shedding of blood there is no pardon for sins." For years animals were sacrificed to cover the sins of mankind. Then God gave His Son Jesus to die on a cross for our sins and since Jesus was God and had God's blood that made the blood of Jesus the final sacrifice for sin and all we need to do is believe in Jesus and our sins are forgiven. With forgiveness of sins comes eternal life in heaven being restored to us. We lost it in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and let Satan deceive them. By this sin entered the world. Sin is nothing but disobedience to God. That is a simple interpretation of sin. The blood of Jesus was pure and sinless. God was the only One who could pardon sin by using His blood. God follows His laws even if He must send His Son who is a portion of Himself into the world so that the world through Him might be saved.

This is a reasonable question for a civilized person in our modern society. And I symphathize with those of you used this occassion to insult and bash the Almighty and the Holy scripture.
It is Justice. You disobey the Law. You have to pay the penalty. Man makes faulty laws and then revise, repeal and change them. God's Laws are infallible, eternal and fair. You can bribe, argue and influence out of man's laws, but God is a 100 % fair and equal dispenser of His never changing judgments.
Man sinned. Man disobeyed. All humanity has tainted, sinful blood in their veins. God has to find a sinless substitute for us so that we can be forgiven and restored to the original relationship with our creator God. There was only one who qualified. He Himself. He took the form of a man. Jesus Christ was insulted, tortured and killed so that If you accept His suffering on your behalf and ask god's forgiveness- God will make you a true child of God. Give it an honest try today. Thanks. God bless.

Consider what it would take for us to have complete confidence in someone to correctly judge our behavior. He would have to fully understand things like anger, guilt, and pain.
Jesus Christ, through the Atonement, gained a full understanding of our lives and by so doing can be our perfect judge.
This is also why we can have faith to turn judgment over to him and forgive ourselves and our neighbor, two of the things we must do to be happy and to return to our Father in Heaven.
This isn't a comprehensive answer, but is hopefully sufficient to help some understand the need for the Atonement. To more fully understand, you must understand the purpose of life. The 2nd source sited can help with this.

A good question. Why go through the song and dance act at all? Why not just forgive people and let that be the end of it? Surely he has the power to fix things.

HI This is a nice question,
According Quran, Jesus is not a god and he is a messenger of god, later this people made jesus and his entire family as god and god's son. actually Jesus was not crucified, he was lifted alive to heaven and one time will come when Jesus again come to earth and rule the whole world for 40 years which will be the golden age of this earth that it have never seen.
