i think of ptolemy862000 has the ideal thought. The sequence is : 8, 12, 18, 27, ... Take the 1st adjustments : 4, 6, 9, ... Now take the 2d adjustments : 2, 3, ... Assuming the subsequent 2d distinction is 4, then the subsequent first distinction would be 13, meaning the subsequent quantity in the sequence would be 40.
