tanning is dangerous? than how come ppl like poor ppl who do labor outside all day and some athletic or outdoor ppl who love to spend the entire day outdoors camping, playing sports, hiking, etc. dont get skin cancer?

or is cuz our bodies are used to it? i think thas y us asinas and africans and native australians are dark skineed? cuz our skin adpated to hot climates and the black color is a result of tan and thas y richer nations have ppl with paler skin cuz they can stay indoors right?S

ANYONE can get skin cancer. People who work outdoors aren't outside for the tan, so they're more likely to use sunscreen to protect themselves rather than people who are trying to get darker. I'm not sure about the "richer nations" idea, but people have evolved (over hundreds and hundreds of years) to adapt to their climates (it's not a result of just being "tan" from the sun). Hot climates have more sun, so their native peoples have darker skin to protect them. People of northern European descent are from areas with less intense sun, and didn't need the extra pigmentation in their skin to protect themselves.

by the way, my granny grew up working in the fields on a farm and ended up with skin cancer-people who work outdoors can get it, too. now people are smarter (hopefully) and use sunscreen no matter what.

People who are outdoors alot probably use sunscreen so that they dont get burnt or cancer. While its true that darker skinned people dont get burnt, u hav to be careful cause u are still at the same risk for cancer. ANd ur right, some people do have darker skin because of their ancestrial origin. Still, be careful and wear sunscreen but the kind that blocks bad rays, not the good rays. Ya gotta get that good ol' vitamin D!!

Yes. Because of climates and environments, asians/africans/latinos, etc have darker skin. Their eyes are shaped differently to help block out sun. Its all evolution.

Caucasians have lighter skin because they tend to live in more wintery/cold locations. It has nothing to do with money.

Tanning unnaturally is dangerous. When you are out on the sunlight with the protection of sunscreen, you are nowhere near danger.
