I'm asking b/c I have two (20 months and almost 3) and I'm debating on purchasing a one of those "sit and stand" strollers. But that's alot of money to fork out $130 just to use for a year. I do have a double stroller (one of the big bulky ones that fit both kids) but it's a monster! My son rarely likes to ride and my daughter is almost to that stage where she's not into riding either.

How old were your toddlers when they pretty much walked during your whole trip? Thanks.

Lisagoesshopping: You're so smart, just flip that single stroller down and make it a double!!! COOL! :-)

Well most of the time my kids walked or rode in a shopping cart by the age of 2. WE did have a wagon for them when we went on walks or even to street festivals.

I have a two year old and a four year old and still use the stroller for mall trips, the zoo, etc....anywhere where there will be a lot of walking. I don't even have a double stroller, I just recline the single stroller as if one was lying down and then there is room to fit two kids. I don't use the stroller very often but when we need it, I am always glad that I haven't gotten rid of it yet. My four year old doesn't ride that much so I didn't invest in a double or sit and stand stroller but just make do with what we have. I personally would not buy one of those sit and stand strollers because I don't think you would not get much use out of it.....or if you really want to get one, go to a consignment store and buy a used one that way if you don't use it you will not be out so much money. Hope this helps!

My son is two and i only use the little umbrella stroller for him, if anything. I am pregnant with number two and have been debating the same thing (buying the double stroller). I think it will be easy when my husband and i are out together and each of us is able to man a child, even if one is in a stroller and one is not, but i worry about what i will do if i have both kids by myself and only one stroller. My suggestion is to check out ebay or pennysaver and try to find a slightly used one for a lesser price. If you find that it is a headache to have one child in a stroller and one not then it is definitely worth the money to avoid the stress. My sister in law has a 4 year old and she only puts him in a stroller when they go crowded places like disneyland or the fair where there is a lot of walking and a higher probability of getting lost.

With my eldest son he stopped using the stroller when my second child came alng when he was 3. He hardly ever used it except on big trips anyway. Now my daughter is 3 years old but she doesnt like to walk a lot, I have twin 6 month olds so i had to buy a double stroller. So for now my 3 year old rides in the stroller with one of the babies and i use a baby bjorn for my other baby.

My son is 3 1/2 and he walks alot so he never sits in one-maybe for a long trip like to Disney Land he would. My daughter is almost 2 1/2 and she uses the single one. They are 16 mos apart so we have a double one and honestly we used it alot in the begining but I don't feel we got our money worth plus thay are a pain and *** to push!!!

by age 3 they usually walked

UNLESS

you do alot of shopping in crowded places (malls, ex.) or take alot of trips where a stroller would help you keep control over your kids

if your older ones prefer walking now and you dont want to invest that much money in a stoller -- try looking at the wrist straps to keep tabs on them , they work great

It sounds like the stroller days are over for your son......I wouldn't waste the money, god knows you will have plenty of other things to spend money on for him for the REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!! LOL

Mine was 4 years old. Thank goodness for shopping carts too because if she would tire then I would plop her in the shopping cart for a ride. :)

i would not purchase a new stroller , and suggest that you stop using one , your children do not need it, unless you are going to a theme park or something like that, but you can rent them in that situation
